Neighbors came home after a trip, so I cut my shooting session short out of courtesy. 3 shots with cheap Wolf ammo to check boresighting, 8 clicks to the right on the scope and 3 rounds of cheap Federal 50gr varmint tips into a 1/4" at 50 yards, using a 6x scope. I'll take that. Faxon 20" "Gunner" .625 pencil profile. By no means an in depth review, but I'm ok with the results. Rifle is a billet side charger I put together last week. Weighs 7.9lbs with optics, empty.

I put a 16" Faxon Socom profile bbl on an upper I built. Using Sierra BlitzKing 55's or Nosler Ballistic tip 55's it shoots sub MOA. The best 5 shoot group I have to date is about 3/4" at 100 yds.

Works for me.

Very nice. I have had great luck with those 50gr varmint tips aswell

How do you like your Strike Eagle?

Its very....ok.... It's not a bad "does everything" optic, but its not my favorite. For 100 yards and under I still prefer my red dots and farther away, I prefer the clarity of my Leupold VX3. The Strike Eagle has a pronounced fish eye effect at 1x, decent clarity but it does have a dark tint to the image. Sort of like a very slight car window tint. For a $290 optic that boast so many features, it's problems can be overlooked. Lets just say that you can tell its made in China.

Thanks for the reply, yeah that was my assembly as well when comparing side by side at Sportsman's Warehouse. It was inside under fluorescent light though so it isn't great conditions to compare. I compared side by side with the Leupold Mark AR 1-4 and Vortex Viper PST 1-4 and the Strike Eagle was defiantly a little "dim" to my eye. As you say though for the price point and the flexibility of "true" 1x to 6 zoom it draws you to it. Unfortunately the darn Mark AR isn't true 1x or that would probably be my choice for a reasonably priced short range scope. The Vortex Viper PST 1-4 is nice and bright and crisp and isn't horribly priced but I'm hoping to get 4 identical 1-4 (or 1-6) optics for my family's AR 5.56x45 chambered carbines.

I do love my Viper 2.5-10. I may just have to hold out and get 1 every few months or so.

I like those barrels, but all the ones they list will only take short gas blocks. Any idea if you can order one that will fit a .625 A2 FSB?

All our Gov't/Socom profiles and GUNNER profiels are set up with a 1.9" gas block journal for full FSB compatibility.

Hey, Faxom, I didnt know you had a presence on this sight. What I like about your barrels is you make some unusually light weight options. Thats the style im looking for
