I am narrowing down my holster choice to a Milt Sparks SSII, or an HBE of a similar design. Question is:
I have both Govt 5" 1911's and 4.25" Commander size. Will using a 4.25 inch Commander size pistol in a holster made for a 5" present any problems? Does 3/4 of an inch make that much difference? In holsters I mean.

The only difference it will make is, you will have 3/4" more holster with nothing in it when you use it with the shorter gun.

A 1911 is a 1911 when it comes to holster fit.

The only possible issue is the bottom of the holster caving in when used with the Commander. Eventually that could cause premuture wear of the holster in that area.

I have a slide holster that fits a full size 1911 perfectly, but seems to be to narrow for a commander or officer's size 1911. The 5" 1911 slides right in and is snug. But you really have to push to get the shorter barreled 1911s in that holster. I'm mystified. Any thoughts?
