Which of YOur Handguns Almost Always Make it it the Range?

My range is in my backyard, so the one pistol that is always with me at the range is my around-the-house EDC ... which, for the past year, or so, has been my 3.3" XD-s.45.

Always a good excuse to run acoupla mags thru it (Oh look! There's also a pistol in my back pocket!) and see how close to one ragged hole I can make. ;)

My Ruger .22's and Glock 19 always seem to make it
It to the range with me.

And my new Walther PPQ .45, what a nice shooter...that's probably gonna go more often than not from now on...

Take Care,

I have dozens of handguns and go to the range once or twice a week.

I like to have variety and get practice on as many different platforms as I can which is why I own so many.
I'm also aware of the old saying "beware the man with only one gun, he probably knows how to use it" (or similar) which is why I always have one of a select few handguns that I shoot a lot go with me every visit.

my ruger mkI is always in my range bag when i go to the range. if i'm having a bad shooting day, the ruger comes out and restores my confidence. with the ruger and its favorite ammo (federal automatch), it's not the gun!

My "project du jour" is the handgun that goes to the range at each session.

But, I enjoy shooting 38 Special wadcutters and 45 Colt so one of those revolvers frequently head out to my "South 40" range.

I have a two-gun range bag, and I usually rotate a .357 and a .22 revolver of some sort. This covers most any handgun shooting needs I might have.

Then I might bring another item or two along, if it is something new to my stable or I just added an optic or made some other modification.

I try to cap it at four. Maybe 5 if I really can't decide. Lugging a bunch of stuff around is a pain, and there will be other shooting trips. No need to carry a bunch of stuff you are not going to shoot.

A Blackhawk Flattop usually finds its way into my bag when I'm going to the range for practice. Does that count as one gun, when it has two cylinders?

These two have turned into my favorite guns. I usually take 5-7 guns out with me when I go but these two are always with me. I generally run the Colt with the 45 ACP cylinder. The 45 Colt USFA is much more accurate though.

I've also got a backyard range and I shoot a couple times a week, so I don't bring a bunch of guns to the range anyway. Out of 22 handguns, my CCW pistol is about the only 100% "goes every time" pistol.

I always take 2 with me....
S&W 442
S&W SD9VE
KAHR cw9
WALTHER P22
PHOENIX ARMS HP22
HI-POINT 995ts 9mm
Just got back from the range today used the HI-POINT 995ts & WALTHER P22.

KAHR cw9 Everyday carry.

My Colt/Walther Gold Cup in .22 LR, that one always goes when I'm going to shoot pistol. If I'm shooting it good I'll break out the centerfires, if not, I'll just work with it or call it a day.

Usual companions:
Kimber Gold Combat .45ACP
CZ PCR 9mm (carry gun)
S&W 1086 10mm
Astra A75 .40S&W
Officers 1911 .22LR
Last one is a gun dujour for whatever reason (ammo workup, been too long, thinking of selling, etc). Too many choices, not enough time and money.
