Makin some paper carts for my Sharps Paper cutter,.54 80 gr. powder ,472 gr bullet ring tail. I'm tying the bullet this time never done it before . Using a clove hitch to tie the powder bag on. Curler papers Work good. Amazing how strong the paper is.

Nice. I've always used a glue stick for convenience. I might try to tie it on one of these days. And yes, the curling papers are awesome for these cartridges. I shoot a Pedersoli Sharps Infantry model. I use enough grits to keep the powder at 60 gr of ffg. I also simply twist the end to create a tail. Makes it easier to retrieve one from my cartridge box.

Using a clove hitch to tie the powder bag on....
Run a thin bead of plain ol`Elmer's glue around the bullet base
the press the case mouth/paper into/around it.
It sticks tacky/tight in seconds and is tough as nails in minutes.

...and fast. ;)

13 bullets at 110 yards

Sometime one or two of them are going wrong.

The nitrated paper glued with glass water (water glass ? ) doesn't burn correctly and a bit of it stays at the base of the bullet, sometime the knot or the cord also burn bad or poorly, then the bullet can go out of the target (I had it twice the past friday).

On this target one of those problems do one five at the left side but no important, for a contest or a game because only the 10 best bullets make the count that gives 97/100 point over this picture.

That's good enough for a .54 paper Sharps rifle at 110 yards but not sufficient if I have to do one pretty good shot at 400 yards because the dispersion will become more important.
110 yards is not far but 400.... :what:

Sorry for the poor english I can write but I'm doing my best...

Oï, Sharps 59,

UR right that is the best way for cartridges but I can't get it where I'm living.
A time ago, may be a year, I have asked it to Shiloh Rifle but I didn't have any answer about shipping...

Never mind if I can't get Charlie Han's tubes I do as I did since years and years: wrap paper, potassium nitrate, waterglass, cord and thin paper for the bottom.

That's good for the cold nights of winter sitting front the chimney with a good fire of wood...

Have a nice day. ;)
