In Finland you can buy a semi automatic rifle for hunting purposes, or sportshooting. Just need some proof that you really Hunt or shoot ipsc for example..

Getting a pistol is More difficult, you need at least 10 trips To the pistol range in 2 years, and a document from official weapon trainer. And keep a shooting diary...

Good to hear you're able to buy an AR-15 and even handguns in Finland. Too bad much of the rest of Europe isn't as fortunate.

Let's see where the EU gun politics are heading... Better not to say what i personnally think of the whole EU...

I've had my Ruger for about a year and a half now. Started shooting factory ammo until I had enough brass to start reloading for it. I also used stock irons until this spring when I put a Nikon P-223 on it. I have not had one issue with the rifle. None of the pins backing out that some have had. No issue what so ever. All in all it is a great little carbine, and I do not know how any rifle could be any "better" I shot a few weeks ago next to a guy that had the S&W, and you'd swear they were the same rifle until you looked closer. I'm sure it too is a fine rifle.

For an entry level AR its a great little rifle. If you want to spend more $$$$ then there are other options that may work better for you.

Got my rifle yesterday, cleaned it up really good.

Tomorrow going To the range.
pictures coming soon......

Went To the range today and shot the barrel in.
I shot 1+1+1+1+1+5+5 and cleaned the barrel after each shot with bore tech eliminator and nylon brush

First 5 after shooting in

I used just the original sights that come with the rifle.

Distance 100m. Sellier bellot 52grain match

Also i tested s&b bulk and got around 2-3 moa groupings

But I don't think there's any 'birth problems'.

Well, according to our bound book, we've sold 9 of them, and according to the repair log, 7 have come back. I'd say there were some issues.

That coating on the firing pin in the first few examples we got had some particularly interesting characteristics...

Everything from poor front sights, pins backing out ( most common- 3 of these) to bolt and feed issues related to barrel assembly, they've had their share of issues.

Last ones in were noticeably better, and every one of them sent back for davidsons repair came back as new guns with no issues.

I think so too.

Besides, i have allways been more of a optic shooter than Iron sights..

Maybe little heavier bullets would allso work better

I think it's making an impact on the market. I see that S&W is now putting a forward assist and a dust cover on their entry-level Sport model. I would bet a decent amount of money on them doing that because Ruger did it. I have the old version with no dust cover and no forward assist.

Allso, here is 5 shots of s&b bulk.
This bullet is known To be 2-3moa from allmost every rifle.

"Have To try heavier bullet next time..."

I have found that mine likes the heavier weights (I'm currently loading 75gr hpbt) so I'll be interested to see what yours will do!

What kind of accuracy have you doc got with that load?

Allthough i reload To all of my Bolt actions, im not going To reload for this rifle (or 9mm pistol neither). At least not until i go progressive. ;)

So factory loads for me at this point i think..

I have not done any formal (on a bench with a rest or sandbags) testing but my groups are noticeably tighter with the 75 grain ammo as compared to 55 or 62 grain. Not that accuracy is bad with the lighter ammo but it seems to be a tighter spread the heavier the bullet.

69grain sellier&bellot match (Sierra matchking) 5shot at 100m was about 20mm or 0.7 moa..

Sorry no pics this time.
