Rip RC
As many have echoed here, your knowledge, posts, kindness and wit will be missed dearly. He was the forum.

Very sad news, love to thank him for all he did to help folks out. A gentleman and scholar does fit him. Condolences to his family and friends and HR friends for sharing.

BULL - maybe after some time you can show the family all these pages of posts in his honor. Always good to see someone you loved affected so many people in a positive way.

RIP RC.

He was very knowledgeable about a lot of things and very generous here in sharing that knowledge with so many.

Unless we meet them in person, we never really know about the people we interact with on the internet... That person, behind the screen name we all see, could literally be anybody....

Thanks to the OP for letting us know a little about, Richard Ballard, the man that was behind RC Model.
Will

RC - I never met you, but greatly admired your wealth of knowledge that you so willingly shared with all of us here at THR. Truly one of kind that will be missed. RIP rcmodel

Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Or all your primers in a glass jar!

Bad news indeed. He will sorely missed.

His posts are truly among the very best. I am grateful for the time he spent sharing his expertise, and we are fortunate that the wisdom he shared is preserved in this forum.

Aw, man... I don't spend nearly as much time here as I once did and probably couldn't name more than 10 members or so, but rcmodel is definitely one of them. A fountain of knowledge and fine soul. He will be missed here and elsewhere. Rest in peace, brother.

My deepest condolences. RC was an absolute fountain of knowledge and an extremely generous man with regards to his helping others. He will be dearly missed.

RC was a great person and example to all gun owners. I had many PM's to him over the past few years and to no surprise he was spot on every single time. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

RIP RC... I guess I just did not realize just how much I appreciated RC until today. I was searching gun repairs and it felt that something was missing. It was RCs' input with his wisdom and experience and that made all the other responses somewhat hollow.

I've been absent from this forum for quite a while. I sign in today and discover this sad news. He was a wise man and will be missed by many.

Sometimes.....words just aren't enough to describe someone that did so much with such little time. The lives impacted not just on this forum but also in personal interactions speaks volumes about him. Add to that the love that he had, to willing gave up something he truly enjoyed to care for a woman he truly loved. Truly a life to emulate. His body may be lifeless. But his legacy will stand the test of time. Every time we pass something on that we learned from him, his legacy is renewed. But his greatest legacy, the one we should remember above all else, is his dedication to family. Selfless love.

Thank you RC for everything you taught us in life. And everything you taught us about life.

He was a great example for all of us regarding how to live in the "virtual" world, but from the sounds of it, I think he was also a great example of how to live in the real world. I'm grateful for that he shared all his knowledge, and it's a cool legacy to see the wisdom continue in the www!

Growing up with no dad, I had to recognize and utilize the best mentors available to succeed. I too tapped RC's boundless whit and wisdom extensively and grew because of it. What a generous gentleman. He will be greatly missed. He was the embodiment of true "high road" living.

One of Steven Covey's 7 Habbits is to "start with the end in mind". So the very sobering question this man leaves us is this: Are you living your life so that you'll have 13 plus pages of testimonials when you pass ?

If not, then why not ?

Damn. Nothing to add that hasn't been said, other than that I will mis this insights. Sounds like everyone else will as well.

Whenever I posted a question, RC was the first to answer and I carefully read all his answers to others. He was a fountain of knowledge and a gracious member on TheHighRoad.

RIP, RC

Geo

Rest in Peace RC. He was a great guy, always helpful and knowledgeable.

My sincere condolences to his family.

Bull,
Just skimmed through the latest posts to see if theres a Obit. I know most funeral homes have a website and online guest book to sign but I, and I think others would like to send a sympathy card if possible. Is there an address to send cards to. Thanks.
Scott
