Guys I got my CZ-452 Military Trainer out to the range today and shot some groups. I was using Norma USA Match 22 and also some CCI standard velocity. Using the open sights at 50m, I was getting about 1 1/2" groups with both rounds. Not great I know, but this is a stock rifle and it's only my second time shooting it. I plan to get a Yodave trigger kit from ebay. The trigger on this rifle has some creep to it. The RO at the range today was super awesome and he is in to .22 target shooting, and had his Anschütz target rifle there and he let me put some rounds through it. What an AWESOME rifle!! Incredibly precise, even with me behind the scope I made a handsome cloverleaf at 50 meters. Here is a picture from the day:

I had so much fun today. Even though I am so new to this, I was really encouraged and had more fun than I've had at the range in a long time. And I didn't spend much money! Boy this rimfire shooting thing is really great, making tiny holes and not spending a fortune doing it! I feel like I just opened up a whole new can of worms, but these worms are good and enjoyable worms. :D

Thanks all and have a great week!!

I have a 452 American. The trigger is less than desirable, but it still shoots great for me. Good rifles.

Nice looking setup! Buy a box of as many different kinds of .22 ammo as you can afford and try them. I did this and was surprised how much more accurate some brands were than others.

Nice report , I also have a 452 American . I bought it because of all of the good reviews I read about it and CZ was going to discontinue making it . I still have not shot mine now in about 4 years of owning it . I was going to use it for squirrel hunting , but the wood is just too pretty for me to take it in the woods , when I have a old Marlin 60 and Ruger 10-22 for that job .

I am looking for a good scope and rings for mine to use at the range . One thing that I don't like about it is , that it is not drilled and tapped for a scope .

Something as simple as a Ace Hardware 144 spring can make a big difference in the feel of the trigger.

Can that help creep?

The big issue I see in the trigger is the creep... boy it's pretty noticeable. The weight isn't so bad, I'd say around 4 lbs. But with so much creep I've found it difficult to get a clean consistent break.

Nice. I think I'll just get the YoDave kit as it's affordable and comes with instructions. Looks a little easier to do than that. :)

I have a 2X7 Leupold on my 452 and have it in a set of excellent Warne rings.

Love the 452's.
Had a Trainer, have the 452 Lux in 22WMR and the Scout in 22lr. Both are tack drivers. The Lux has a great trigger, the Scout had a trace of rough creep when new, now just a trace of smooth creep (rolling break). Best value in rimfire rifles.

Often the lighter ACE spring has the added benefit of eliminating any perceptible creep if originally present (so that you just feel a crisp break with no annoying pre-travel), but sometimes it won't. In those other cases you may have to take further measures as outlined in the links that viking499 offered.

Also important to note is that a few hundred rounds (I don't like dry-firing my guns even though CZ says it's okay) will almost always make the triggers somewhat better. I had a 452 Ultra Lux that still had some creep after installing the ACE 144 spring and I thought I was going to have to take more serious steps to eliminate it, but after a couple hundred rounds the creep disappeared. This is often reported by other owners.
