Has anyone used the grooveless 230 gn RN coated bullet? Feeding issues? What company?

I am assuming you are talking about .45acp? I have shot many thousands of my own hard cast 230 grain groove-less lead bullets that are coated either with powder coating or hi-tek.

In reality, you can use the data for any 230 grain lead or plated bullet design as long as you start at the bottom of the data and work up. Just keep an eye for pressure signs as you work up.

As far as reliability, I find nearly any RN bullet to be superbly reliable in any semi auto. While not groovelss, I have used RN lead, coated, plated and jacketed bullets from many manufactures and never have seen feeding or reliability with any of them.

+ 1 for ACME BULLET (coated)
After over 15yrs with the same company - hard cast lead- I started trying the coated bullets, most were just OK, not much advantage over lead. I have ordered 3 times from ACME, 200 gr swc, I believe I found the one, to replace lead with.
About 4,000 down range now. Accurate, almost no fouling and fast shipping.
They ship their bullets in a reusable wood box, to my surprise, all three arrived with the box in perfect shape. BTW, the bullets were groove less, and I did try 100 of the 230gr, the bullets were just fine, just like the 200gr swc. Good Luck.

I've used lots of grooveless coated bullets in 9mm and 40 from an outfit called Precision Bullets. They offer several 45 flavors too. I am sure that they would perform well.

In 9 & 45 all I shoot are the Blue Bullets - no problems at all with these (in 45 I use the RN 230gr) and they are all grooveless.

I've used Blue Bullets in 9mm, 10mm and .45 (230) and they have worked flawlessly. They're all without grooves. Awesome company to do business with.
