Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Or all your primers in a glass jar!

Thank you for informing us.

I remember the post were the person talked about putting primers in a glass jar. Lol
He added that to his signature because of it.

RC will be missed.

I haven't been on here in a while , and just found out. RC was a wealth of knowledge on here a a huge asset to this community, he will be sorely missed. I always loved to read his funny stories and he even helped me out a couple of times in some of my posts. My sincere condolences to his family.

Last night I was talking to the owner of a local restaurant, where RC was a regular, and told him about all the respect and tributes that we've posted here.
Dan was impressed, but not surprised, to hear about it as RC and he had shared many a conversation.

I don't remember the last time I logged in here on THR. It's very saddening that this is the first thread I saw when I came back.

RC Model, you'll be missed. I personally learned a lot from you on this forum, and I know many others have as well. I hope your family is able to deal with your loss. I didn't know you personally but you seemed like a good man and someone that your family could look up to. Keep a bench open for me at that big shooting range in heaven.

It is possible like and miss someone you never met. RIP. Look for a name tag in heaven
I was an 8h grade teacher for many years and one of the things I had my students do at the end of the year was write a letter to themselves as graduating seniors. I would deliver them to the high school shortly before graduation and it was always interesting to see them be opened. I eventually started writing one myself and dropping it in the box. One of the very last ones I opened was about that very subject. There was a fellow who contributed to the old rec.knives named Bob Engnath ("Grind") and I had made a note of how much I had been saddened by his passing. I felt much the same way when I heard RC had died.

Good people are good people whether you meet them in the flesh or if you only know them through their words on a screen.

So true Elkins 45,
I was so impressed with RC that I made an appointment to meet him at his home on my way to SD pheasant hunting in 2015. I am so glad I did meet him . we communicated almost daily until his death. He was a great guy, the salt of the earth and had a giant heart! I truly miss him and his counsel.

I was blessed to have had him as a friend and cherished his wisdom as well as his friendship!!

Wow.... I haven't been on here in quite a while and wasn't quite prepared for this. One of the first things that came to mind when I came back to the forums was," I haven't seen RC yet.". I don't think we ever communicated directly but I became very familiar to his responses and was also blessed by his wealth of knowledge. I drew what is most likely a fictitious caricature in my mind of RC that I became accustom to seeing here on THR. RC and THR became on in the same for me and though I didn't expect it, I find myself tearing for the loss. I'm very thankful for the RC experience that came with frequenting these forums. Rest in peace RC and thanks for everything I've learned from you and all the times I spent chuckling at my computer from your posted replies.

I know what you mean. After all the internet interaction that we'd had, when I first met him in person I told him "I thought you'd be taller.."
He just smiled.

Well, damn. Yes, I've been away for a while. This . . . never saw it coming. RC gone. You know, I'm starting to get really pissed with 2016. Yeah, we've had some unexpected good things happen, but the cost of balancing the scales has a toll all its own.

Sorry I wasn't there for you, RC. We'll have to catch up later.

Been away too long
.
Darn

Good Man.

RC Always Took 'The High Road' and THR was/is a better place as a result. (there are scores with similar qualities, probably some of similar age)

So sorry to hear about RC, he was truly a mentor here on THR, he will be missed greatly, I had been on vacation in August and therefore missed the sad news of his passing. May he RIP.

I haven't been on THR for a long time, and this is terrible news to come back to.

RIP. Great man, loving husband, generous friend. I shudder to think that we lost one of the best, he will be sorely missed.

RC Model answered a lot of my bush-league questions over the years with patience and grace.

He seemed to me to be truly an exemplary human being.

He will certainly be missed.

Give his family our condolences.Such a dedicated provider for his wife.
May his spirit one day be with that of his wife.

When home next week I will 'search' for many of his past comments and try to learn from them and remember his helpful spirit.

I never knew him other than someone who gave me generous and wise advice in this forum. I am so sorry to hear this news.

Really bummed to see this. I haven't been on much the past few months. I jumped into the reloading section and saw the link to this. RC helped me immensely when i started reloading about 6 years ago. Also helped me narrow down a problem with a 1911 grip safety a couple of years ago too. His knowledge, expertise, and general kindness will greatly be missed. There is a huge void here now without him.
