On a whim last night I bought a tub of Hornady Unique case lube.

How do folks remove this lube? I'm hoping just a wipe-down with a rag is fine. I've kind of gotten that impression from some things I've read.

I know some tumble after sizing - and I used to do that before I switched to wet tumbling. This stuff seems thin and innocuous enough that a second tumble is not required.

Any experiences?

Thanks.

After sizing/trimming/debut/chamfer, I toss them in the tumbler for 30 min. Does the job

I use Unique case lube for resizing my 357sig brass and tried to use the tumbler to remove the lube, but it seemed to me that I started seeing some gunk buildup in my tumbler. What I do now is wash and dry it first before putting it in the tumbler.

My case prep steps for 357sig are now; decap, wash/dry, resize using Unique lube, wash/dry, tumble.

I may do some experimenting with just throwing them in some soapy water, agitating them by hand, rinsing, and putting them in the food dehydrator to dry. I'd really prefer to not do a full SS pin tumble a 2nd time. Maybe compare how the cases feel then as compared to just doing a towel wipe.

I spray some Iso Alcohol on a fine weave Microfiber towel and just wipe it off. Those kind of towel are designed for car wax removal and work great.

That sounds like a great idea: a microfiber with a little chemical assistance".

Thanks all!

otisrush ...........I too use the wet tumbler ...I have SS pins but do not use them unless the brass is extremely dirty...my brass comes out so clean without them try it and see for yourself . Too get the lube off "Simply rewash after sizing and trimming let the tumbler do all the work " . " Don't mess with the pins unless you have to" ........................Just my Two bits.................................

I use the exact same lube. Simple wipe down with a paper towel is all it takes for me...

That's an excellent idea. I'll give it a go. Case/media separation after tumbling is quite the pain. It would be cool to not have to deal with that in all situations.

I use unique, and I go kinda light with my lube, and some of it gets rubbed off when handling, but I've just been shooting the cases with the lube on them. Haven't noticed a problem yet.

that said, I'm not really advocating it, and I know the theory of why you want it off, so there is no need to jump all over me if you disagree, I'm just telling my results. (Also, I'm not shooting large caliber, hi pressure rounds. )
