I am looking for a single case that will carry a minimum of 4 handguns. Hard side would be preference. This would be back and forth to range, so overall size and weight are not that important.

I was looking at Pelican Storm cases online but its hard to determine how many guns could fit into one.

If size and weight are not a factor I would buy a cheap Doskocil rifle case. Another option would be to look around on the web at camera bags. Many different sizes and shapes and most are heavily padded with multiple pockets. Slip each handgun into a zippered pistol rug and drop them in.

Really depends on the size of the guns, I've an approximately 14"x18" hard sided camera-like carrying case and I can usually get five or six pistols into although it can be a bit of a Chinese puzzle, four is usually no problem except for my very largest revolvers and Desert Eagle. It even carries an 7.5" AR pistol when the upper is removed from the lower. I seem to recall it was made by Outers.

I don't use it much anymore (it was my only handgun carrier case for many years) as I've lately switched to a bunch of the Midway soft-side cases that hold one handgun and seven mags and are often on sale for ~$15 each, they come in about half a dozen different colors. I've a herniated disk in my back and now need to carry in three or four trips what I used to carry in just one :(

While not a hard side case but works very well is a tool bag. I have used an old US GI tool bag for 1 or 2 handguns but a bucket boss 14" tool bag will carry 4 easily and still not look threatening. I also like a 24" wide mouth bucket boss tool bag for carrying a broken down AR and still has room for a couple of hundred rounds and a couple of handguns.

Four semi-auto handguns only or do you also want room for extra magazines?

I suggest you pay a visit to your local big box home improvement store such as Home Depot or Lowes. Go to the power tool department and check out the tool cases they have. Since these tool cases are made to go to construction job they are strong and durable. You may have to add foam to fit the box and make cutouts for the guns.

For transporting my handguns I like to put each gun in it's own pistol rug, then put them and everything else (spare mags, shooting glasses, hearing protection, etc.), into a large, heavy duty nylon range bag with numerous pockets and compartments. Ammo goes in a separate nylon bag as does a spotting scope if I'm taking rifles to the range.

I second the suggestion to look at the Case-club cases.I have bought two of the four handgun cases recently. They are expensive but very high quality. The guns are positioned so they are easy to grab and depending on the case they have magazine and/or accessory storage compartments.

On the pricey side, but I use Guncruzer:

Love it!

In addition to the GunCruzer they also offer another version that holds 6-7 guns with limited mag capacity.
