Hi guys just wondering are Greener Martini GP takedowns suitable for using as an action for centrefire rifles?

The brain is just thinking would be a handy way of interchanging barrels!

But does that split design have enough strength for the pressure?

Also if it is suitable how big is that barrel shank, anyone know the thread size?

What level of modification would be needed to make it function with a rifle cartridge?

That looks like a 1/2 action Greener, generally used for either rimfire or rook rifles. I've got a couple of similar rifles in center fire but they are chambered in low pressure cartridges, think 140 grains at 1200-1400 fps. Mine are in .300 Sherwood and .360 center fire.

Is that one of the shotgun models that uses the 12/14 special shotshell? If so, it's a full size Martini action and is plenty big enough for a rifle cartridge. But considering that it's over 100 years old, originally designed for black powder and a takedown, I'd use some discretion in what cartridge I picked. 45-70 with factory load levels would be a good choice.

Could the OP provide a picture of the bolt face?
