Walther PPX slide stop failure

While I was shooting it today, the slide stop piece that rest's on the frame, literally broke off! It is plastic, so I'm wondering about the durability of this. The same thing did happen to my Ruger SR40-C, but it broke inside the frame. Ruger repaired it for free in no time.

I've already e-mailed Walther to see about shipping it back.

Are you talking about the slide stop lever or the frame of the gun which is polymer? I just checked my PPX and the whole slide stop lever on mine is steel and magnetic.
 
Yeah I was wondering about that. A slide stop is one of the parts of a pistol that cannot be polymer. Maybe he's assuming it's plastic because it broke so easy
 
I stand corrected, it looks like plastic, but its not. Maybe the 40 cal cartridge is too much for this gun, maybe they didn't beef it up in critical areas.

We'll see how Walther handles this one, I'm interested to find out.
