Is this a good magazine ?

LaBelle and AdventureLine are generally regarded as the best of the best when it comes to USGI. Okay, NHMTG, D&H, C-Products, Brownells, and Colt are very close behind when it comes to quality aluminum magazines. PMAGs have become the standard by which all others are judged, and are really good magazines, but not the best in my opinion. That honor goes to the Lancer L-5, they are the toughest, most reliable, and surprisingly the lightest of the bunch...they also tend to be a little more costly than the rest.

For me, more magazines = less reloading mags at the range. Simple as that.

Also, if you're only going to have two; you need 2 20 round and 2 30 rounders :)

Now, in some fairness, I tend to only buy two magazines. At a time. In my case, that's rather a copious group of 1911 mags.
I probably have 10 or 12 Okay mags, quite a few are stuck in web gear, and aren't really part of the shooting rotation. They mostly have original followers in them, too.
Mix of green and tan followers for the shooters. One of these days I'll find the magpul followers on sale and grabe a few of those, too.

I agree that more magazines simplifies the process, but a good speedloader can be just about as good. I use the StripLula and keep all my ammunition in 10rnd stripper clips for easy charging. That said the StripLula and a few dozen stripper clips cost more than a couple of magazines (though I think it's well worth it for the ease of loading).

Regarding 20s, that's just about all I use. I keep a couple of 30s (and a single 10 rounder) around, but they almost never get shot. The 20s get used at the range and stay loaded with appropriate defense ammunition in case of need. They work better from the bench/prone, are [obviously] lighter, and come in a nifty count that happens to be the same as a standard box of ammunition.

I have always been drawn to 20s because they "look correct" (or, more accurately, look more correct) to me ... and I find them handier than the 30s.

O'course, if my ARs were selectfire and I had to use them to fight off groups of attackers I would probably prefer the 30s. ;)

As it is, the 20s are perfect for my peaceful purposes.
