Look what I ran across on our local gun Grapevine yesterday and ended up picking up this morning. An unmolested unsporterized all matching #'s Carl Gustafs Stads M94/14 carbine (G 33/50) in 6.5x55 Swedish w/ the original sling. Unfortunately I didn't pick this one up for $200 like I did my 6.5 Norwegian krag Jorgensen from Steyr, this one cost me $450 which is still pretty damn good considering what they go for retail. Here's some specs on it :

Calibre: ........................ 6.5 x55 Swedish
Rifling & Twist: .............. 1 in 7.9"
Barrel Length: ............... 17.7 in. (450mm)
Overall Length: ............. 37.3 in.(950mm)
Weight: ........................ 7.5 lbs. (3.4kg) (empty)
Magazine Capacity: ....... 5 (charger fed)
Total Qty Mfg: .. ............ 115,000 (by Carl Gustafs Stads Gevarsfaktori)
Qty Mfg (1907): ............ 14,105 (Low Serial # 39600 - High Serial # 53615)

This rifle in particular is production number # 12221 out of 115,000. Because of the ATF rules there is a 0.3" nub on the end of the barrel to bring it out to 18" so they could be imported in the 60's. Even though this thing is only 37" long,, after reading a number of threads on other gun boards I'm just glad I was able to find one of these that hadn't been chopped up and turned into a deer rifle ;) ...
BTW, this also came with 95 rds of original Swedish Surplus 6.5 milsurp shells. I thought that was a nice little bonus.

the G33/50 was added by the importer and does lower the collector value to purest collectors, however it is a nice carbine and well worth what you paid for it. the stock alone is worth close what you paid for the whole rifle. enjoy it. eastbank.

I love them things...... Got 3 Model 96 rifles but no carbine. I'd love to get one like that someday. If it's as good as it looks in the pictures you got a nice deal on it. Thanks for posting but I'm also gonna request a muzzle end picture if you could. (Inquiring minds want to know).

I had one of those about 15 years ago and sold it for $150. I remember paying about $200 for it. I think I did that because I couldn't find anyone who wanted to tap it for a scope. I hope it's still unmolested, it was in VG condition.

Been regretting that decision ever since.:(

Yours still has the original 1894 type stock Many were converted in 1914 to the 94/14 style with the big bayonet lug on the stock. Mine has a 94/14 stock and has been heavily sanded in the past. I would have jumped on yours just for the stock.

What does your stock disc say??? M-94-14 been sanded 009.jpg

Idk just yet. I bought a new king size mattress and box spring set for my bed at the last minute yesterday evening, and at the moment the old set is in the way of me getting to my gun cabinet. As soon as I get things moved and get to the cabinet I'll pull it out, clean it up and see what it says

OK I do not see anything added to the muzzle. It is supposed to protrude past the end cap about that much. Also the limit on rifle barrels since NFA'34 has been 16 inches so it was never "too short"

Someone might verify for us, I'm not enough of an expert.

The 1968 Gun Control Act changed rifle barrel minimum length to 16" but before that it was 18".
So earlier than 1968 importer Interarms added the G 33/50 barrel extensions.
After the 1968 act took effect, it wasn't necessary any more. Some carbines have it, some don't.
Once again, I ain't no 68 GCA expert. Hopefully other members will follow and help me out.

Tremendous deal. The stock's alone often sell for $500.

When this thing first popped up on our local buy/sell/trade gun Grapevine my first thought was that the price was a little bit high on it, but I was still willing to pick it up for what he was asking for it because I had a sneaky suspicion about it even though I hadn't researched them yet. I was actually looking for another 6.5 Swede to pair with my Norwegian Craig Jorgensen, also chambered in 6.5 but I had no idea just how much the pieces, parts and furniture for these were worth let alone a complete numbers-matching carbine

Ok, I just did the old Pencil Trick on the disk and got a good look at it.it says "Cal. 6.5 Swedish, Made in Sweden".

And for those who enjoy marking disk pron---

I was told the "L" indicates issue to a formation made up of old men. Which is appropriate in my case.
