Finish wear from holster, pretty good odds they have not been shot that much. ;) ;)
Especially since they are 40 & 45 - too "snappy" for lots of practice. ;) :neener:

So the guns, sight unseen, are almost $400.
Well, don't forget that with tax, a $350 gun in the store goes up too.

I just looked, the site says free shipping, so you'd just have to figure the price of your transfer. As I said, mine is now $20, I've paid different rates depending on receiver. Cheapest in my city charges $10 for handguns, but he's in a hard to get area, so I spend another 10 to have it close to the house.

People buy "sight unseen" every day- it depends on the local availability and price. The description says the photo is representative of the gun's condition, and they list the guns in the standard categories- I see Very Good, Good, and Fair listed, depending on the deal. Those are standardized definitions of condition, easily found with a google search. They also post reviews from buyers, and I do see a couple that are not pleased (which means they are honest with posting reviews, not just the good ones).
They state that you should inspect the gun before accepting it, and you can refuse and return it- and they reserve the right to charge shipping and restocking, depending on the reason. I suspect that if the gun is clearly below the listed conditiion, or certainly if it fails a function check, they will swap it out for no extra. If you refuse just because you don't want it but it meets conditions, expect a fee.

I've bought a lot online, and I've only once had a function problem, which surfaced after shooting (which technically is outside the bounds). The dealer still made an exchange for no cost, because they value word of mouth, and had they screwed me over, I would be posting everywhere what they did. Different dealer (J&G in my case), but I imagine the same concept here.

And don't forget, depending on the brand, the manufacturer warranty can still apply. I had to call S&W for something once, and all they asked for was serial #.

The thing is that if you shoot much at all, a 9x19 gun pays for the few hundred dollars difference between some cheap 40s and its self fairly quickly and many times over through the service life of the gun.

The USP is the only one of those that would interest me but I already have one. The DAK sigs aren't my cup of tea. I don't really care for the XD. The XD, S&W and the glock 22 are close enough to 9mm prices I'd just buy a 9mm even if ammo costs weren't a factor.

I recently got a P220R DAK from Streicher's. It was $409 and came with three factory mags and tritium night sights. The sights still glow pretty well; the serial number indicates the pistol is just five years old. It has some holster wear around the muzzle and at contact points on the slide. The grips look great. Mechanically, it seems nearly new. It's hard to be unhappy with a P-series Sig for under $450 including shipping and an FFL fee.

Out of those you listed, I'd be most interested in the P220 or the USP. I happen to like .45 and .40 so it doesn't bother me that they aren't 9mm (which I also like). Though, they have P220s in better condition than the one you listed for not a lot more, and they have DA/SA as well for a still reasonable price. Now, the ones I'd be most interested in that they have are the P229s in .40. If only I didn't just buy a RIA 1911 CS and I'm saving for when the 3" version of the Kimber K6 is actually available. I guess I could put off the Kimber and once the summer school teaching paychecks come in I can probably finally replace the P229 I sold some years back when I needed the money more than I needed the gun.

I have bought couple of USPs from similar sites. One was a Variant 1 USP40 and the other was a Variant 1 USP45. Both came with 2 mags. The 40 was $419 and the 45 was $429 (if memory serves). Both were mechanically perfect, had general holster wear, but the bore on both were perfect, and spring tension was spot on. The USP is the ONLY DA/SA semiauto I like, so I consider both to have been very good deals.

I wouldn't buy one of the Glocks (personally) only because I get them new with 3 magazines for $419 through LE pricing, but for someone without that advantage...the prices are still pretty good.

Don't you guys have local gun shops that sell these trade ins?
I just picked up a gen 3 glock 23 for $319
They have USPs for $450 and sig 226 and 229 for $475
Most are .40 , some .45

Great prices on the USP's. Not sure about the rest. Maybe the Sigs. I guess it depends on what you want. With new HK VP9's going for $500 or so, unless you want a .40 I wouldn't be all that interested. I guess some are great deals if that is what you want in the first place.

I clicked on approx. 15 different items - all were either "No longer available" or "Temporarily out of stock". Useless website.

Their stock changes based on what's being traded out by any given police department at any given time. The thread was posted nearly 2 months ago. They still have a lot of used firearms to sell, but a lot of what they had in stock 2 months ago is now sold and they have new (used) items in stock.

DAK is a love/hate thing. I love it, my P220 trade in was the first one I ever shot and I ended up with a P229 DAK in .40 that I'm looking to sell now. I'm getting out of .40.
