Browning Hi Power, Discontinued

Represents the continuing dumbing down of the firearms community. The current collective Kool aid mantra is "all plastic, all striker, all the time" = vomit
I disagree. I look at all-metal & wood, hammer-fired pistols much the same way as the blue water dreadnoughts of WW1.

The later Kareens - Mk.II & Mk.III are Bulgarian Arcus pistols (Arcus 94), but made to some Kareen specifications, hence the slightly different appearance. But on the inside they are a 100% Hi-Power clone - all parts are interchangeable with Brownings. Rumor is that they are somewhat better build than Arcus 94, but I really never cared to check that - they just don't appeal to me.

I had the opportunity to handle one of Nighthawk's Hi Powers this weekend, first time I had ever had any hi power in hand. All I can say was it seemed it was meant for me! Unfortunately my budget doesn't coincide with their asking price but I am now definitely going to keep an eye out for a regular one. And now I hear they are being discontinued and can only hope the used ones don't get ridiculous.

I believe that is a FEG parts gun assembled by Kareen in Israeli. Early on Kareen IIRC bought parts from FEG and assembled the pistols. They are true clones unlike some of the later Kareens.
Very interesting, thanks! That's more than I've heard before. I kinda thought it might have some age to it, but no clue as to mfg date. S/N is 1AA4082, which makes me think it may at least be old enough to drink. I'm not real knowledgable about HP's, just glad I have this one.

Since y'all are posting your customized beauties, I finally went and got a couple of my '92 vintage mkIII.
She's customized with scratches and wear! I love this thing

I purchased the 75th anniversary model NIB the year after it's release. I ditched the magazine safety and put in a lighter main spring, Navarex slim grips and it was a very nice shooting pistol.

I was able to participate in gun smith Chuck Warner's Beta test for his total radius sear grind, in which Chuck did a complimentary trigger job, and now it is a superb shooting pistol.

I had a .40S&W Hi Power, which I sold when I got rid of all my .40s. It used to be my carry gun. It's one of the few guns I've let go that I really regret selling. I think I'm going to pick up another one and convert it to 9mm, which will allow me to shoot +P to my heart's content, and carry it with the same ammo.
