I'm not the original poster, but here are a few photos of a New Vaquero chambered for 45 Colt that I picked up used a couple of months ago. I happened to be in the right place at the right time. This one is pretty new, it was made in 2013. Not my first Vaquero by a longshot, and not my first New Vaquero, but it is my first 45 Colt New Vaquero.

As to stag grips, I bought this Vaquero last year just for the stag grips:
Took the grips off and replaced them with the black hard rubber (plastic) factory grips. Now the New Vaquero grips did not fit anything I had, having all the older XR-3RED grip frames. So I had to buy a new Flat Top .44 Special to fit my new grips:

I was the other way around: bought the Flat Top .44 Special and had to replace those factory plastic grips right away! Went with Ruger's rosewood grips til the American Holly grips I ordered from Private's Custom Grips arrived. Turnaround time was very quick and they fit my Flat Top perfectly.

Off subject a little, but I would like to know if grips from the original Vaquero will fit the "New" Vaquero (or vice versa)?
