Any feedback on Ruger American rifles in .223, just spotted one in a lgs with a threaded bbl. Any difference in accuracy with a non threaded ?

No 223, but totally happy with my Americans in 308 and 300 B-O. My friend had one in 6.5 CM and one in 22 mag, he's happy too.

I had a ranch model in 300aac, loved the rifle, and had no problems with it. If i get another .223 bolt gun they will be on the list.

I have a RAR Navy digital camo, chambered in .270 win with a Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40. Kicks like a mule but it shoots straight. Don't know why Ruger didn't put other calibers in that stock.

I've got a 223 Ranch. I get about 1 MOA 5 shot groups off a bipod. The fore end is pretty flexible, so you have to make sure you aren't flexing it into the barrel. It seemed a little finicky, that is I can work up MOA loads for my Savage with several quality bullets; I had to try several to get one MOA out of the Ruger. The Savage does have a much thicker barrel.

It is a handy little rifle.

I have 3 Ruger Americans in 223, 308, and 6.5 Creedmoor. They are the most accurate rifles in my safes and I have less than $1000 in all 3 combined. I have that much invested in some individual rifles. The Ranch, which you saw, and the Predator have a slightly heavier barrel and do tend to be a bit more accurate. But the standard models ain't bad. The Ranch only has a 16" barrel so muzzle velocity will be somewhat reduced, but they are very nice guns. My 223 is the Compact with 18" standard barrel. My brother has the Ranch in 223 and really likes it.

I have the standard RA in both 243 and 30-06.
Both are crazy accurate with $200 scopes on them. The most accurate rifles out of the box I have ever owned. Would like to check out a 223 though.

I second that, I have a 308 and it's the most accurate out of the box rifle I've ever shot. Crazy accurate for what it cost, I've seen many custom rifles that cost five times that wouldn't out shoot it.

My father has a compact 243. As others have noted, very accurate. Heck of a rifle at that price.

Ruger Americans may be the best value in a new rifle these days. Ruger has sold a ton of them and it is indeed very rare for someone to be dissatisfied.

I have had a 22, 6.5 Creed and a 308. I am not a big fan of their triggers, but the 6.5 and 308 were sub-MOA and I could cut that in half with the right handloads. The Creedmoor was one of the most accurate rifles that I have owned.

I own RA in 243W & 308W the RAR in 300 aac & 450 bushmaster every one of them is at least capable of sub 1" groups at 100yds with factory loads and better with my handloads. The 243 is for the wife.....the 308 has harvested several whitetails and the 300 has dropped the last 3 does in their tracks DRT. The 450 has not gotten lucky yet but still a lot of time this year.
