An almost old, new to me

My father purchased one similar in the 70's. It wasn't two tone though. Had a color case hardened frame as I recall. Black plastic grips. I could have had it, but chose his combat commander instead.

Super nice looking Colt Frontier .22. I use to have a couple of the later steel frame New Frontier .22s; the ones with the color case hardened frame and the adjustable rear sight. Man, I loved those little .22s (especially with the 4 1/4" barrel); should have held on to one but something new always caught my eye so away they went in trade.

Is the frame on this gun cast zinc alloy (Zamak?) or aluminum? If it's Zamak, it is in wonderful shape. I mean, it looks great for any material, but especially for zinc, which often does not seem to age well.

Very nice find MMC SRET. These guns seem under-appreciated.
