I've been awaiting Springfield Armory's high capacity 10mm offering in an XD or XDm platform for a while now. When I saw their Facebook post indicating today would be a 10mm release day I got excited. I don't care for Glocks so I was interested in the SA.

This morning I am disappointed instead. Another 1911 is not what I was looking for, especially one with a $1790 msrp.

It has some nice features but nothing my Sig P220 doesn't have, with the exception of a manual safety. I don't care about a manual safety and I don't really care to own another 1911.

Not what I was hoping for, but I thought I'd post it for those who are interested. It looks like a nice offering though so I hope it makes some people happy. Choices are a good thing.

The price is a bummer for me, makes the newish Ruger SR1911 10mm more appealing. I’m sure it’s a nice one, but for that kind of money I’d look elsewhere.

MSRP on the 6" version is $1840!

For that kind of money I'd likely be looking at a Dan Wesson.

Nice, especially with the 6" slide, but most definitely way too pricey for me! Would go with the Ruger 10mm. instead.

A high capacity 10mm XDm would have been really cool! Another overpriced 1911, ehh.

I love my 1911's, one of them is even a springfield, but they are range guns. A high capacity 10mm XDm would make an excellent truck / camping gun! I have been waiting for a good non-glock, non-1911 10mm to make it worth the expense of adding a 10mm head to my Dillon 650xl for a long time. Closest so far is I have really been tempted to pickup an ole S&W 1006 tank.

Pretty sure SA said they were going to be releasing an XDM and 1911 in 10mm in the near future earlier this year. I for one am looking forward to the XDM, don't need another 1911

They did make that statement about a 10mm XDm. I'm guessing it's not too far behind, but who knows.

Price point seems a bit high to me, but my old TRP in .45 ACP is probably my most-used 1911; it's been rock-solid, and I've certainly owned some more expensive 1911s.

However, I've decided that an SAO SIG P-220 in 10mm is what I really want ...

TRPs are nice guns. Hate the look of the rail though. I like the XDm, but I am not sure I would want that for the platform.

I would go for a 10MM in either a 1911 or a Witness Hunter.
Great point -- the accessory rail on any 1911 is rather an abomination. And I've heard some good things about the Witness 10mms -- came awful close to buying one, but passed as I decided I needed another long gun more ...

Yeah, you are getting into DW Bruin territory at that price range, no way I'd go a TRP over a DW.

My RIA Tactical 10mm is quite nice and accurate, pretty sure they offer those in doublestack as well, kinda fun.
