I know, but the Navy guys just love it when you call their ship a boat.

When I worked at NAVSEA one of the groups we supported was the folks who managed the construction and building of the Navy’s boats. If memory serves me right and I may be mistaken, anything less than 105’ is considered a boat.

Anyway, that group had a sign on the door, that said

We build the Navy’s boats.
And someone wrote in
(And one small ship)

At the time they were also in charge of construction of a craft that was slightly larger than the definition limit!

Those folks had a sense of humor. But the aircraft carrier folks .. less so

I was glad to see those guys all wearing glasses with that flash just off their nose!

You guys all put up some nice action shots!

This was taken 4th of July I think 4 years ago. My son shooting my Saint Lewis Hawkins 50 cal with no bullet, powder only. I would load it up and shoot it into the air every few minutes while the younger crowd was setting off fireworks. 3F powder, not going to post how much but enough to be extremely loud. I am thinking most of the powder burnt after leaving the barrel.

No pic, but I used to have a Mosin that produced a beautiful pumpkin sized fireball if you shot it around dusk.

It depends on the market. That is, what is available in the gun shops. When the Dracos were easy to find, I would get about one a month. In the pass year I have only gotten about 5. I really hate shooting them. Aint nothing fun about shooting them in a small room with rubber walls.

Come on people, I want to see some more flashy stuff.:)
