I could only check off 6 of the 11 manufacturers I have.

I wonder what the results would be like if it were HOW MANY of each manufacturer. For instance, I have 56 hand guns, but 45 of the are all Smith & Wesson.

Ruger is the favorite; have a bunch of them followed by a few Taurus 85 revolvers and a gifted Colt OMM. Future purchases planned include a few more Rugers.

I have more Kahr pistols than I do S&W's...

I really boiled down my handgun stash in the past few years, so my contribution isn't as much as it might have been.

It sort of surprises me that Ruger is represented like it is, but the poll doesn't take into account the number of each, I think that would change things considerably. It would also probably change the rank of Glock, too.

Colt being as high as it is actually surprises me. And I figured Glock would be a solid 3rd with as many fanboys seem to frequent these forums.

It'd be interesting if this could also add up the number of guns for each manufacturer we owned, I bet Ruger and S&W would pull ahead even further. Out of all of my handguns, Ruger and S&W account for 50% of my collection.

Kind of a selective - and perhaps biased - menu of choices.

Dan Wesson? Remington? (Really!) Jennings? Raven? Browning? (Or were we supposed to convert to FN?) Arminius? Jimminez? Rock River Arms? Century? IWI? ATI? Arex? SCCY?

And what of U.S. Government issue?

The omissions are almost as numerous as the choices.

I'm surprised to find :
Roughly a third own a Glock
Roughly a third own a Sig

But all I hear is Glock this, and Glock that. I rarely hear from the Sig boys, and when I do, it not with the ferver of the Glocksters.

I wonder why that is ? Every Sig I've handled (I own neither a Sig, nor a Glock) has been twice the gun - fit/finish-wise - as a Glock.

Sigs seem more expensive, more of an investment. Perhaps the Sig owners are just a bit more circumspect ? Perhaps the Sig boys don't want everyone to know what a good thing it is, creating more demand, and driving prices even higher ?

I wonder.
