I just got an email from sig, they came out with a 10+1 round 9mm pistol for around 6 hundred bucks.
"Introducing the game changing P365 High-Capacity Micro-Compact. The revolutionary new concealed carry pistol that gives you more capacity, more concealability and more capability. It’s the one gun you can carry every day of the year.

I received the same e-mail. I want to see it in person, but that many rounds in a gun that small has my attention.

That's slightly smaller than my single stack Kahr CW 9 except for being 1/10" wider, making it the same width as my CW45.

Very interesting

I bought a P320 last year for range use and classes, but a P365 for CC could be just the ticket. With an empty magazine it weighs slightly more than an empty Ruger KLCR which has been my carry gun for the last five years or so.

At first I thought "Whatever, it's just another striker fired carry gun." Then I looked at the specs. It is a bit compelling.

They act like they invented something new. A thin compact 9MM with 10 rounds.

What in the heck does a subcompact "very concealable" pistol want with a rail for adding stuff that negates that.

I would like to feel that trigger he describes as "the cleanest crisp trigger you'll ever feel"

Why not have the rail? It gives the user options and costs SIG nothing to add that feature. Having the rail isn't going to be problematic for anyone that doesn't want to use it, but it sure would be a problem if it wasn't there and someone (for whatever reason) wanted to add a light/laser. If I were the pistol product manager at SIG I would have insisted on a rail too, maybe not proprietary, but a rail for sure.

With those dimensions and specs it’s definitely a gun that gets my attention. I can’t wait to handle one, this may be the subcompact or “micro compact” I’ve been looking for. To bad sig couldn’t get the msrp down to around $499, but non the less it still interest me. I’ll be keeping my eye on this one

Looks very similar in size/capacity to a PT111.

If that's the case then it's nothing that new, just something new from Sig.
It weighs less, it’s thinner, no double strike capability (I think, nobody has demonstrated the trigger yet), 10+1 capacity and shorter height. Not really the same as the pt111 in my book. Oh and no manual safety

I'm definitely interested. I'll be watching to see if it's reliable.

Count me in as being interested in this new SIG! Being the cautious type I would definitely wait for some real world feedback before I ran out and bought one.

In the SIG video they said it took 6 months to design this odd shaped magazine that is sorta in between double stack and single stack. That is how they can get 10 rounds in such a small gun. But the crappy old Kel-tec P11 has the identical dimensions. It is also 1 inch thick and holds 10 rounds in a normal shaped magazine.

Compare to a Sccy that holds a nominal 10+1, def 11 and possibly 12 with a little follower work. Advantage Sig for factory tritiums and striker design if that is your preference, but 3x the cost of the Sccy...

I like my Shield, which I assume is the market this pistol is targeting, and it has a tiny bit of rail.

I know a few people with only one pistol.

Not many of the people I know are like this (I tend to attract lifelong shooters with a gun addiction problem as friends), but some of the people I know are like that. Especially at work.

They might buy a gun like this for concealed carry and then slip on a light on the rail when they got home and put in in their bedside drawer or bedside lockbox for quick access and use it for home defense.

With 11 rds it's not like they're losing a ginormous number of rds to a Glock 19, BHP or a Beretta 92FS. Plus there's the possibility of aftermarket mag extensions later on down the road.

Last video I watched about a home invasion the homeowner used his S&W Shield to drive them out...only owned the one gun period.

Makes sense. Many of us, myself included, would just switch pistols.

Yeah, me too. Sig is smart for considering everyone in the market though. :Shrug

I don't really care about the addition of the rail either, I just switch too. But then I have a safe full of guns to choose from. I'm guessing you do too.

However the addition of a rail wouldn't keep me from buying this Sig if I happen to like it's size, feel, sights and trigger, I just wouldn't use it.

I said similar in size and capacity.

If it's a double stack as it seems than it looks like it would fit somewhere between a single stack and double stack sub compact.

Doesn't really look like anything that innovative to me. Just has the Sig logo on it.
