Has anyone heard from Old Fuff lately?

Even if that were the case Old Fuff was a very stand-up kind of guy; I doubt he would have left THR without telling us the reason why. I would also think, at the very least, he would have said goodbye before he posted for the last time.

Probably so. He was my favorite member to read and I started noticing his absence right around the change over. But I can't remember if he ever posted after the changeover or not. Hope he's in a good way wherever he may be.

Your not allowed to ;)

Not only him but, Walt Sherill, 1911tuner, Rcmodel, Steven Camps and many many others made the THR one of the best worldwide websites on firearms.
Hope, he is fine and laughing about us.

Walt Sherill lives about 30 miles from me. I think he is OK as I see him post on a NC gun forum.

1911tuner...I know he is Ok. Lives just 2-3 miles from me.

Cocked & Locked thanks for the up date.
By the way, I need to contact 1911Tuner to improve my new SA 9mm.

Is there any way that the system administrators could try to track down his approximate location using his IP address. Then possibly some other research could bring us closer to knowing what is going on with him.
ISTR he was in Arizona. But he was very careful about maintaining his privacy, one time I messaged him and he did not reply.

Geez! You guys got Old Fuff dead and buried. Sounds like the "fake news" going around. Maybe he's tired of online crap.(it happens). Maybe he won the lottery and went to the Virgin Islands to chase virgins..... Either way all the guessing does nothing. If he's still around he may say Hi again. If he's gone God bless him and let him rest in peace. jmho

That's absolutely correct. We don't know. Logic indicates bad news, but we just don't know. Let's just hope he shows up.

If Fuff has passed, my thoughts are with his family.

I was recently reading an older thread that RCmodel posted on, and came across a post from Old Fuff. I realized I hadn't seen anything he posted for quite awhile. I checked his profile page and he hasn't posted in over a year. Anyone know if Fuff has passed on?

You will all be happy to know that the Old Fuff (whose real name I will not divulge) is alive and kicking (well, moving) as of this afternoon - I met him by chance in Safeway. He and I have been acquainted for more than 30 years. I hadn't seen him in quite some time, so wasn't sure of his status, either. But he seemed in good spirits, looked much the same (he has always looked like his age should be calculated geologically), and said he will be 84 in a few days.
I told him that the gang here was asking after him, and would like to hear from him again - I hope he will check-in soon.

Wonderful news, thanks for posting it. :)

That's great!

I am very happy to hear Old Fluff is doing well.
I have always enjoyed his posts.

Thanks for the update; that's great news! Hope to hear from him here on THR real soon!

Good, Old Fluff checked, please tell him to post often the gang need to keep learning.

I learned quite a lot from him over the 11 years Ive been a member here. Only JMB knows the 1911 better. I always enjoyed his postings here. One of the members here I'd like to raise a glass of good Speyside to.

Since we now know Fuff is still alive, and may or may not choose to return to the forum, I guess this thread has fulfilled its purpose.

True. Ity's good to know he's still around. Several old and respected members just seem to drift away with no word of where they went.

I'll close this one and hope Old Fuff returns to posting. (If you read this, Old Fuff, and want to reply in this thread, just say the word via PM.)
