I'm seriously considering another handgun purchase... CZ

Tanfoglio makes a good solid sidearm, have been imported to the US under many names, Witness, P-9, TZ-75, Baby Eagle, by several companies, European American Armory, Springfield Armory, FIE, Excam, IMI, and they are generally well thought of. Their customer service, on the other hand, is poor, extremely poor. The P-07 is not a Glock, BTW, much better grip angle and feel, IMHO. :)

Yeah, I went I to the big gun store and felt it. My choice was going to be between a CZ something and a Glock (the gen 2, made by S&W). I felt a real Glock sometime last week, and it felt worse than the S&W Glock! I'm inquiring about the CZ, if that tells you anything...

I've seen some Baby Eagles, but I've only ever seen them as decocker models. Should I be looking harder?

I'm pretty much set on a CZ 75 compact now, gun show this weekend, probably going back to the big gun shop next week if I don't find one at the show.

$429 plus $30 shipping and transfer.

Baby Eagles were made in Israel - IMI-Jericho. Very similar to Tanfoglio and CZ, but a little different. Good pistols.
Tanfoglio made the slides and frames, final assembly was done in Israel, or, at least it was when the BE started and I was still talking with Tanfoglio on a regular basis. Interestingly enough, Sarsilmaz of Turkey makes a clone of the Tanfoglio, but before that they were a distributor of Tanfoglio.

I stand corrected. I apologize Armoredman.

I too like the CZ's . Just bought a P-09 for a price I couldn't pass up . Could stand some trigger work & accuracy suprised me . Gonna wait until I've got 500 rounds thru it & decide then what I'll do with it .

My very first handgun purchase was a CZ 83, and of course I have my CZ 550, so needless to say I am a fan. I would say "addict" but I don't think having only two meets the minimum qualification. Once I get my dove gun purchase checked off my list, my sights will shift over to a CZ 75 compact in one configuration or another. (I'd also love to have a 455 and a 527 -- but don't tell my wife. Wait -- isn't hiding stuff from your spouse another symptom of addiction?)

I have shot a P-07 with threaded barrel and suppressor sights. Wonderful pistol and will be a future purchase.

I love gun shows... Every now and then a dealer will cut you a deal. This time, my deal looks like just what I wanted! Saved a few bucks too! Now... to shoot it sometime this week (hopefully).

So what CZ did you end up getting at the gun show? Details and photos are a must!

Um... it looks identical to all the other ones... So far (insert maniacal laugh...)

75 Compact

Hope to have a tritium front sight sometime in the future, as well as that magnetic rail do-hickeymajig. And an extended slide release. But first things first... holsters.

I see you already bought one (the steel CZ 75 Compact may be my next CZ), but for what you originally wanted, CZ compact, with safety instead of a decocker, and an accessory rail, it sounds like you want a CZ P01 Omega Convertible. It can be changed between the safety and decocker...

Yes, actually that was what I was looking for. Unfortunately I was under the impression that a .22 conversion kit would not fit on the Omega line. Which formerly seems to have been correct, but remedied now. Unfortunately... I didn't know that until I ordered a .22 kit, and saw that it fit the Omega... Hindsight and all that. Oh well. I console myself with the probably false assumption that the gun lacking the rail will be more comfortable to carry.

Okay, just ordered a .22 kit. What can I do to make the mags better? Is there a grip extension out there? Is there a way to shorten them without making them not work?

Also a concern, where can I get California mags? So I can take it with me when I visit. The only ones I saw were about $40!!!!!! Full size ten shot mags are 20-25, but compact ones are 40. WHY!?!? Can I chop the bottom off the full size ones safely? What do the Mec-Gar California mags look like when disassembled?

Got a about 1500 thru mine, flawless and accurate. Trigger gets better over time.
