Does anybody here have one of these yet?

I haven't had the opportunity to fondle one of the new model 66s at a shop but this model having a full length ejector rod and stronger frame than the older models has my attention. I have a 4" 686+ that I carried for a long time but always wanted something slightly smaller. It was replaced with a SIG P239 in .357 SIG. My EDC is and has been for many years, a Model 442.

I've got a 3" Model 65 that's retired to safe queen status but I want something to take its place. The new Model 66 2.75" seems like the logical choice.

Whenever one of the early ones is used in television or the movies, I always notice. The Model 66 is beautiful, but I never once saw one of the original ones on a dealer's shelf! Whenever a dealer I knew got one, it was always grabbed up by someone on a list! And you had to be on the list for a long time. When I got my Model 629, I had to let my dealer put it on the shelf during the waiting period with a SOLD! tag by it, just so people could see it. Never got a shot at a Model 66, though, and the prices were always a bit over the retail price when they were available.

I ended up with a Ruger Speed-Six and a Security-Six, and both are outstanding guns, though my dream gun was a Model 66 4-incher with counterbored chambers and a stamped side plate.
