I think we can help the cause by going to the NRA main site, member services:
https://www.nramemberservices.org/members/faq/faq.aspx

And click the link to reduce the amount of physical mail you receive:
[email protected]

Ask them to stop the physical mail, which saves postage costs which should help the cause, and continue with receiving Email which costs close to zero. I've been making my contributions on-line for quite a while now and shouldn't have been this slow to take this action!

The mailings are moneymakers for the NRA. When they start costing money instead of making money, you can be sure that they will stop them on their own.

But yes, for those who absolutely never contribute as a result of a mailed request, or who simply wish to stop receiving such communications, the NRA does provide a method to stop the mailings. Be aware that it may take awhile before the request takes full effect.

I did this years ago. I rarely get physical mailers, never have gotten a phone call, and only get the important emails.

I also opted out of mailings years ago. I only get the magazine and the orange legislative alerts now. Win for all involved IMHO. I send the ILA what I can when I can.

I see many people say they get multiple mailings from the NRA. I was a member for some years. Life member since '07, then Endowment, now Patron. The only thing I get in the mail is the monthly magazine.
I have never knowingly opted out of mailings or any other solicitation.
The only contact I have with them(other than magazine, and new member card every year) is when I donate or upgrade my membership.

I opt out of everything but the magazine which gets passed around at work. As they age someone removes the address label and accidentally leaves them at their local doctors/dentists office reception room.

I've done that several times, still time to time receiving mail.
