From researching a number of sites most everyone is indicating that Hornady's Match ammo is top tier. It also comes with a top tier price. Just wondering if anyone has a different brand that they use, which compares in accuracy? I know it can depend on how a particular rifle reacts, so I want to try a few different brands to see what my "new to me" Savage Stealth likes. Once I save up some brass I'll start to reload, but for now I'm looking solely at factory ammo.

prime would be my #1 choice, and them the hornady precision hunter. my desert tech will shoot itty bitty teeny tiny little groups with that stuff.

The only factory ammo ive shot from my 6.5CMs has been hornady custom some odd, loaded with 129ssts if i remember correctly. It duplicated the velocity and accuracy i was getting with the 123s and h4350.
After that one box tho Ill ive shot has been handloads.

Another Prime fan. It shoots very well in all my CM rifles. I handload and struggle to come up with something that outperforms it.

I haven’t shot it myself, but every guy I know who WAS shooting Hornady factory ammo at the beginning of the competition season has switched over to Prime. Not that the Hornady stuff isn’t accurate, but the Prime is at least as accurate, if not more, and it costs less. I hear fairly consistently from guys it has less velocity spread as well.

So far Hornady American Whitetail with the 129 gr Interlock. I understand the brass is soft and may not last but I bought it cheap enough ($16.50/box on sale). Six boxes gives me 120 pieces to work with plus the 20 Hornady Black for a total of 140 once I begin loading.

I tried Browning, Remington, and Winchester factory loads as well with larger groups from both my Ruger and T/C. Hornady Match was the most consistent through the chrono followed by Whitetail but neither was exceptional. It seems I now have another to try if only for the brass.
