Is it true that all Dillon Fans only use GLOCKS?

Nope. I'm a Dillon owner and fan (though not, I hope, an irrational fanboi) and have zero interest in Glocks. But their fanbois can be similar in many, many, many ways.

I seldom hear a Dillon user call anyone else stupid.

But almost everyday I hear the LEE fanboys telling Dillon (Or Hornady, RCBS etc) users, "Why on earth did you p!ss away all that money on that Dillon when everybody knows that the Lee is better and cheaper.

And they forget the rule that "better" and 'cheaper" do not belong in the same sentence.

Well, for cranking out a test run of 10 or 20 rounds in a different caliber than what I have the Dillon currently set up for, my Lee Classic Turret is both better and cheaper.

For cranking out 1000? No. The LCT is cheaper, but not better, for that.

Different tools with different strengths. The Dillon's strengths are very strong.

Gee Rule3 you really are asking for a fight! :)

I guess I'm an example of one in a crowd of one hundred, and I'm the single "idiot" walking the opposite direction. Presses and Guns. I prefer underdogs in sports too. Maybe there's a screw loose....but that's ok by me.

I do love a Series 70 Colt 1911 Gold Cup but I sold it. Too classic, and perfect to shoot...every time I shot it I felt guilty somehow. My carry gun is a Ruger SR .40S&W ..... light, sleek, narrow, 15 rounds, and accurate as hell.....what's not to like. And "Blocks"? I mean Glocks.....I can't hit the broadside of a barn with the ones I've tried and they sure aren't pretty....and S&W's are over priced. I don't like paying for a name, unless it really is better. Again....your experience will vary...I repeat, we are all different. Thanks be to God for that.

Once again, I load on a Lee and I shoot a Taurus. I guess that makes me an idiots idiot! The Lee does just what it's supposed to do and I wouldn't trade my Taurus for 2 Glocks. BTW the Taurus is a 20 yo. PT92C and it is as accurate and smooth as any of the other 5 pistols I own.

Gee do you have any verification or links to that statement??

Almost everyday? Insinuating that LEE loaders call Dillon Owners stupid??and that Lee is "BETTER??"

Seriously??

Suppose they all drank to much beer in College and puked as well.

No just figured "Perfection" went with Perfection:) After changing out every part on a a Glock as a modification:neener:

Simple. the best is always the most expensive. Many folks who can't, or won't, buy the most expensive, try very hard to make themselves believe that their less expensive item is "just as good" as the more expensive item.

As an example, just look at how many will try to convince you that a Lee is just as good as an RCBS or Hornady. It isn't, of course, but their ego won't allow them to believe it.
Now pay attention folks: Hey cheygriz Northplatte Ne is only 220 miles from Cheyenne I'm sure that's where you are from with your name. You bring your 100% Dillon and I will bring my 100% Hornady and we will bet them I will give you the choice of caliper, a 500 round run or a one hour run. You pick the hotel and the date and I will drive my 300 miles to take your press. Now, all you have to do is pick the press you want to run against.

Yes, that is a Hornady AP Press. Yes, that is a Hornady Case feeder with a collator. Yes, that is a Hornady bullet feeder with a collator. Yes, that is a Hornady Delux Control Panel. And to prove to you how much I like Hornady I will use Hornady bullets and Hornady Cases.

Note: I have not lost a bet in 35 years and the deck is stacked in my favor this time. Now, I have spent many hours getting my Hornady to run perfectly The primers feed faster than I can pull the handle The case feeder has a case ready to go faster than I can pull the handle and the bullet feeder can load a bullet faster than I can pull the handle. I didn't set up my Hornady to run "just as good" as your expensive item, I made it to run "better"

Well, then I guess we'll have to coin a fanboi name for users of the new Mark 7 Evolution...who stopped supplying dies (Lee) with their presses, but raised the price slightly (about 10%).

I have a friend who just got his Evolution and dumped his Dillon 1050...and I can see why they are priced a bit higher than the Dillon

What are the drawbacks of the Hornady design? What is its worst feature?

DRAINSMITH, it looks to me like all that remains for you to do is invite JMorris(?) over to automate those puppies.

Then you can load up all of the hoppers in the morning, flip the switch, go to work and return to a basement ankle-deep in freshly-loaded ammo. :)

Drainsmith I like the idea of having a loader for each type of primer. I would also like to be able to shoot all the ammo you must produce. Every time I see your setup I thinks WOW. We are lucky to live in a country where we can have access and use of so many good presses and the right to shoot the production from those presses. .

That's quite a challenge.....Just pick a place with enough gallery seats....I want to come.:)

Nobody doubts you like red! But your picture.....it's pristine. I know you took it after many hours of mess building it.....I've seen your bench with only 2 presses....now it's loaded for bear! I can't remember where to find your video you posted of it in action! Can you post a link? ........and there are many AP users who wish you'd write an illustrated book on how you made the AP nare perfect.....it would sell.....such perfection doesn't come straight out of the box.....from any brand.

I don't own the press, but I'd buy that book!

I use a LCT but go to all the reloading forums and save info and links for problem solving on Dillon, LNL ap, Lee etc. I love to see the mechanics of the presses along with problems and fixes.

Same holds true for the Ruger 10/22.........

Ow
Is it true that all Dillon Fans only use GLOCKS?
Ow, that stings...now glockers and dillons will be jumping up and down. I own both, one is utilitarian, the other functional. Im not going to down anybodys choice, untill they start telling me Im stupid for my choices, i think most of us probably use what works, and if disposable income allows a new/different setup go for it

I own a few token Glocks, Lee, RCBS and actually have a Dillon SCALE (Eliminator)
Dang I see that sucker has gone up over $20 from when I bought it. It's a nice scale. Of course not made by Dillon but its BLUE:)
RED and BLUE make GREEN!

This is quite the all American thread.....reminds me of me buying my 10/22.........at a grocery store in Provo, Utah......for $59 with a real walnut stock. What a deal! My son shoots it these days. But no reloading of .22's so it's off topic.

I own a Dillon.....a bottle of brass polish....does that count? Not hardly, I know. I do wish I had the room for 2 presses to play with....a 1050 and a 650 would be fun to wring out.....and a red AP too. Hey! I could have fun with a Lee Loadmaster too!
My new Pro Chucker 7 is coming along great though.....busy, busy. Too fun! What I really need to do is purge my space of all the exercise equipment gathering dust....and add some of this important stuff!;)

Rule3, one thing I don't own is even one token Block. Never will. They just don't fit these hands. I have another Ruger, a Security Six, a Kahr, and my .45 (post Gold Cup) is a Kimber Stainless Target II.....and that's all...a pretty small collection.

Aww Pishaw!!!!!

There's still room for improvement!!!!!!!!!!

Would require modification of the press handles,,, and the addition of a horizontal rod run through all (4) handles to enable all (4) presses to be used at once,,,,

Forget (1) round per pull,,,,,,, We're talking (4) per pull now!!!

:D

How can it feed primers faster than you can pull the handle since the primer feed function requires pulling the handle?

What! No Glock 19??

It's the only gun a person will ever need for ANYTHING!

Even a truck gun, SD gun and yes a BEAR gun!

And with the longer grip, the 19X will make short work of doves, quail, pheasant, and other game birds. Truly, the final perfect word in firearms.

Well, I got to answer a few questions so I will start with ALTDave. The worst feature of the Hornady over the Dillon is the case feeder/ collator. But you got to remember the Dillon built their press with the case feeder as part of the press. Where the case feeder for the Hornady was basically an afterthought. But I have done 5 minor modifications that has mine running better than the Dillon. Now, I have modified my doc's Dillon collator to run as well as my Hornady.

GBExpat: A Mr. Morriso automation is not "Hornady". All of my modifications must be under $20.00 and be made with normal tools.

farm23 I do not produce near the amount of ammo as you think. Remember there is just one loose nut pulling the handle.

GW Staar: I remember the days when I had two presses on my bench. At that time the only reason I had two set up was so that my grandson could load with me I wasn't concerned about the speed at that time. Now, as far as that video the only reason I did it was because Mr. Moris wanted to see a 100 round run. It was done in one take and if you noticed in the video I had corn cob mess up two cases. I don't know if my daughter saved that video for me. And as far as me writing a book, my Momma named me Mike Smith because if it was harder than that she knew that I wouldn't be able to spell it twice in a row. As far as the Pro 7 keep working on it. That is the press of the future.

Skygreen: This post gave me the best chuckle When my grandson was six he did tape a broom handle to all four handles. I am glad that he thinks outside the box but I did ask him how many eyes he had to watch the presses.

Texas10mm: On my maintenance stand I set my press up with an air compressor to blow the feed primers out of the way and then I short stroke the handle just to get the primers to feed the shuttle.
