Pietta cased G&G

Perhaps someone overpaid. However, they may have been a civil war buff or a Confederacy buff.
For people who had ancestors in the war, the items may have a deeper and more personal meaning.
Also, the ad states that the case had a "custom glass front and velvet lined box" which indicates that some labor went into the whole project.
And the seller was amply rewarded for his efforts to present an entire package which was more than just a revolver.

That case resembles my efforts as a wet-behind-the-ears teenager. Authentic cases don't look anything like that.

No, it's not like an authentic Colt case.
But it's intended to be a display case.
Maybe someone purchased it as a gift, or for their business office and they can write it off as a decorating or business expense.

If I was in the market for a $300 cased gun with accessories., that would have suited me, but I have a Pietta G&G in a plain oak case. I don't think that gun sold for overprice.

Hey, try to find a new Pietta G&G these days and pay less than $250 for it. They are virtually non-existant. All I am trying to do is locate a Pietta part octagon/part round .36 barrel and am having no luck.

I went back and reread the description. No where in the description did it imply that the case was authentic. It's very clear that you don't think the set was up to snuff. And you have as much right to state your opinion as anyone else. But some are obviously of a different opinion, as reflected by the bidding.
And I agree with expat_alaska. I would have taken that box set for $75 in a heartbeat!

Guy does what he does... He isnt TRYING to be "correct". but he does seem to put the hours in... a LOT of people like his stuff, and he does a lot of stuff besides this one. Keep on eye on him if ya like him... dont if ya dont.

I do, but there are SOOO many that like his work, I have little hope of catching anything he does, much less the cool bulldogs and avenging angels... But I keep watch just in case.. shrugs..
