What guns have you wanted but just couldn't justify paying the price?

For me, the FN SCAR 17S.

I buy firearms for specific situations. And so far, I don't see myself needing one enough to justify spending the dollars on one.

I've spent more on defense handguns than the SCAR 17 costs, but they are for EDC and for more likely threats. I still want an AR10-like rifle and will buy one, but it will cost less.

I have long wanted an honest to goodness BHP. I shot an old Hi Power a while back ; the results amazed me. Am I that good of a shot?

Oh , but the price is so dear...

I'll agree with the people saying M1 carbine. God those guns are fun, but $1100 for a barely-functional beater just isn't worth it for me. I would have no problems dropping $900 or whatever the asking price is on those replicas if they ran worth a darn.

A CZ 455 (452 maybe? the one with the 24" barrel and iron sights?) is the next one. It looks like so much fun but I just can't justify dropping $450 on a .22. I love my 527 though, and CZ's got some of the best craftsmanship around for any brand making factory rifles. They aren't Browning, but they aren't very far off. This is one that might end up creeping up on me and I may end up owning.

Speaking of Browning, their mini-1911s in .22 look like a ton of fun but $600 for a 22 pistol is ridiculous. I can get a Buckmark or a Ruger Mk III that will hit whatever I want for $400 at the very most.

Korth .357.
Original sig 9mm issued by the Swiss.
Best fit and finish I've ever seen.

You can always justify the price for anything that you really want. Sometimes it just the price of doing business. Doesn't mean to let someone cheat you. Demand can cause prices to rise. It happens.

Any AK stylish rifle over $399 us dollar.
Browning 1911 -22 minimalist pistol.
Any 1911 pistol above the price of Colt msrp list (ok I know, Les Baer, Wilson and like, but as 1911tunner once said the tight more prone to fail)
FN SCAR
Any AR 15 practicool full of gadgets.

Well, you’ll probably shoot a $450 .22 a LOT more than a $1,000 center fire. I’ve got a 453 Varminter that is incredibly accurate with the right ammo. I wouldn’t sell it for $1,000 if I couldn’t get another. In fact, I probably wouldn’t anyway because the new one might not be as accurate

Mosin at any price. When they were $79 I figured a shotgun would be useful and accurate. Now they are $300 I can think of so many more better uses of money.

Currently its Smith model 29. I would love to have one but spending a % of my yearly income on something I won't shoot much doesn't make sense.

I would like to have a left-handed Weatherby rifle in 257 Weatherby, but I can’t manage to force myself to pay $1600 for a bare rifle.

You know, I was thinking about this thread as I passed by browsing the forum, and at this point, I don't really think I can justify any of the guns I want to buy. My needs are met. And yet, the two pistols that I want to buy that are $1200 each keep whispering in my ear "You might need us. Don't forget us. We will make you complete."

Addiction is a powerful kind of thing ain't it?

I see guns every day I drool over but cant justify on any level. Especially money.

Example: Heym 88B .450/400

At 5 figures even for a nice used one it just isn't going to happen and the truth is Africa for me is likely a pipe dream.

I really can't justify any of my guns except for my self-defense weapons. I don't need to hunt anymore and target shooting is a relatively small real need. After all, I only need to practice with the guns that I would actually use for a real purpose.
In truth, most of what I buy outside of basic necessities are difficult to justify.

I buy them anyway.

Rifles:
Walther WA2000 (I would love to build a custom bolt action that resembles a WA2000. That would be close enough).
SVD Dragunov or NDM-86
PSG1

Handguns:
Colt Python
High-end 1911s

It's a hard question to answer as I've forgotten what some of them were. One that comes to mind is a Remington 700 BDL early in my married years. A wife and two little kids put it out of reasonable reach.

I'll confess to buying one firearm and paying it out over a year. It was kind of expensive but it posed no budget problem that way. It's been the one and only that wasn't a cash or trade deal.

My howitzer is in the shop so a combination ak-57 uzi radar laser triple barrel, double scoped heat seekin shotgun. For da turdy point buck.
