The biggest pile of garbage I've ever read

I’ve killed hogs with a .22 long rifle before (in a trap) so I am pretty sure a .223 will kill a deer. That said I have so many other calibers that are so much better suited for the job, I can’t bring myself to waste time on the article but I did read the conclusion. Budget isn’t much of a concern for my “medium” (or large for that matter” game hunting ammunition, I just don’t kill enough of them for that to be a factor.

Just up the road a bit resides a family - friends of my wife - deeply entrenched in hunting of all forms. They have a 9 (N.I.N.E) year old daughter who could school this guy. Easily. She has the hides to fill her resume.

Ain't the internet wonderful?

As others have said, wow. I can’t wait to read his tips on hunting Alaskan bears.

Just use the .223 and it will kill ‘em deader than dead!

And don’t forget when you go after the big Alaskan bears, “know that you are using the inappropriate rifle if you end up going for heavier bullets.” And remember kids, “velocity is what drives the shot.”

And whatever you do, “do not use a .308 asthat just needles through.”

Wow, the comments are depressing.

Lots of people out there who have no idea what they're doing.

I had to leave a comment. I doubt it will get “moderator approval” I just hate to see some poor guy go out deer hunting with a 50 grain V max or the American Eagle fmj. That’s really sad. I was really nice so it might go
I’m not sure where the 223 wssm fits in to the conversation I’m kinda confused!

Well technically it's possible to single stack WSSMs in an AR. It's kind of a cool setup with the .243. But I'm pretty sure our buddy Shawn just didn't notice or doesn't know the difference.

This is why you cannot trust anything you read on the internet. Good lord.

http://wildernessmastery.com/hunting/223-for-deer-hunting-ammunition.html#disqus_thread

I read a book once that had some pretty outrageous and wrong information. That is why I no long trust any non-electronic written source and why nobody else should either. :p

Blaming it on being from the internet is like blaming the mailman for the content of the mail you receive.

BTW, your post is reflexive. As you made the post on the internet proclaiming you cannot trust anything on the internet, your post cannot be trusted.

Judging by the picture of the author and evaluating his writing style I’d say he’s just a kid with very little experience

But he writes on many topics from Wilderness Mastery. He was born in Alaska and has been hunting since high school and has had a hunter training class in Alaska. I think he is an "expert" more by location of birth than by any other evidence indicated. I have now read three of his articles. They are glorified product reviews that appear to be discussed from the perspective of his vast (sarcasm) knowledge base. Aside from the fact that the Alaska education system appears to have failed him so badly in his mother tongue, what strikes me as being so interesting is that I don't see a single picture of him with any of the products he is reviewing. All of the products feature other people, as if they are all promotional images provided by the sellers. o_O In other words, I see no proof that he is actually using any of the stuff he is writing about and hence I doubt him having first hand knowledge about a lot of it.

As a hunting expert, I highly expected to find him on Facebook. No such luck. Maybe somebody else will have better luck finding him there or anywhere else.

What a load of gibberish. Writes like a 12 year old with no knowledge of ballistics. Just cut and pasted what he thought were big words to impress those with even less knowledge of ballistics. Case in point. Referring to bullets(projectiles) as shells or "effectiveness of a specific type of ammo depends on the reputation of the brand". Reputation effects effectiveness of ammo?

All the articles in this dreadful “publication” are just as bad. From how to hunt “waterfowls” to my personal fave: “Best Gun Ever, It Will Make Your Heart Go Bang-Bang”. What is the best gun?

Glock 17
S&W M29
AK-47
M1911
Winchester M1873
CZ-75
S&W M60
SIG P226
M-14
AR-15

While some of these are truly great firearms, the M1911 is great because it is the most commonly seen handgun in Call of Duty games(!). Oh, BTW it can take 14-round double stack magazines too.

.

"Federal Fusion is a great suggestion. It fires accurately, very lethal and has enough power to hit the target each and every single time." Fantastic. Where do I get some of this stuff? Every time I zero in on a deer at 3000 yards or so, I seem to miss. Most times the deer turns to look at me in a mocking stare. I'm convinced the bullet is not making it to the target and believe these to be the answer.

"Hand loaders have some very convinced parameters." Ah, now I see what my problem is with the perfect .32 Long load-- my parameters aren't convinced. I'll search the site for some help with that. And, you know what? I think that's my new signature line.
Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
My parameters aren't convinced either. Much less "very" convinced!o_O
What a maroon.

Since that "article" is apparently on a click bait site, just imagine how much you have helped enrich his company by just going to his website...

Well, at least I'm a bit relieved that OP's headline referred to somone's hunting themed Mad Lib, and not one of my prior THR posts.... :p
