(New or newish to me, anyway. I bought them used online, as any sane person would do.) :)

Taurus PT22 - I have owned it for a few years, but never shot it much. The last time I did, the plastic buffer broke and flew out of the gun. I sent it to the factory, even though I bought it used. They replaced the buffer and springs, and sent it back for free. I still can't shoot it worth squat. It works just fine now, but... I shot one magazine. The hits were spread out 6" high, about like I remember. This one will be in the case at the LGS soon.

Ruger Standard 22lr with 4" barrel - I had it out to the range once before, but "needed" to test the new magazine. Dang! This thing is ridiculous. I was shooting at seven yards (due to the Taurus and Miroku), but... dang. Two 50-shot strings. Almost every hole was touching. The trigger was so light that I shot it by mistake several times. Wow. This one's a keeper.

Harrington & Richardson 32 caliber top-break revolver - Pulled the trigger six times, went bang once. All of the primers were struck, but five too lightly. Time for a new mainspring, I'm guessing. I paid $79 for it. I can afford the mainspring.

Miroku Liberty Chief 38 special snubby - Ho hum. It shot about like any other 38 snubby. I had to adjust to its POA, it wants to have the front sight slightly above the rear grooves. After that it shot just fine. Occasionally the DA portion of the trigger pull was extra stiff. I am guessing there is some crud in there. I will have to open it up and flush it out. It shoots just fine.

Ruger P89 - It was the second time I had it out to the range. I had to test a couple of new mags (thanks G!). It shoots just fine. I had to get used to the sights and trigger for a couple of magazines. After that it shot about as well as any service pistol... maybe better than average.

Smith and Wesson M&P 45acp - A friend and a relative both have the 9mm version. They go on and on about how great they are. Yeah, whatever. But I was offered a great deal on a 45acp with the box, all three grips, and four mags. Okay, I'll bite. The trigger is just a little longer and stiffer than I prefer, but dang. For an older guy with bad eyes and trembly hands, I shot it very well. I had a few sort of fliers early on, and then proceeded to make the middle of the target go away. When I talked to the RSO about what I paid for it, he went on break with his phone to see if they had any left. Dang. This one's a keeper! :)

Sounds like one of my range days, pretty much a mish-mash of guns with no rhyme or reason to the assortment.

Two of yours are in kindred with two of mine, the Taurus and the Ruger (though mine is a Mk-II Standard.)

On such a range day, guns that might come along could include my Ruger P95, Bersa Thunder 380 (a Thunder 22 came home recently, so it's due), and one or both of my Heritage Rough Riders. Might even remember that I own a NM Single-Six, too.

Yeah MedWheeler, very similar.

I have a P95 and NM Single Six also. If I substitute my 380 Makarov or 380 Hungarian Walther "clone", I have something pretty close to your Bersa Thunder.

It's entertaining for me to shoot a variety of handguns in one session. It's funny kind of "finish up" with a big bore, then shoot a few rounds of 22 for fun. It feels like they didn't even go off. :)

I also like to start a range session with a couple of.22s (Beretta Model 70S and Ruger Mk.II), before I move on to the "bigger stuff". From there it's on to the .380 (Colt Mustang), 9mm. (Browning Hi-Power), and I finish up with the .45 (Colt Combat Commander).

You're welcome If1HitU. That's basically why I made the post. If anyone was considering any of those handguns, they got a brief range report.

Bannockburn, that's how I prefer to do my shooting sessions, too. On a typical trip to the range, I "warm up" with a 22 revolver, then a 22 auto. Then I generally shoot a "medium" revolver and a "medium" auto (32, 38, 380, 9mm, etc.). I finish up with a 40-something revolver and a 40-something auto. I shoot about 50 rounds through each handgun. By the time I've done 100 rounds or so of 22 and 100 rounds or so of "medium", transitioning to the 40-somethings is easy. For me personally, starting off with something like a 44 magnum is difficult. I prefer to ease into it. (I also like your choices of handguns. I own the ones you mentioned, or at least ones that are extremely similar.)

I have the Ruger P94 .......it is same size as the P95 , but all metal like the P89. Those old Rugers sure were overbuilt, huh?
I always bring a polymer with me to the range as well, usually a Glock, and a pocket pistol in 380ACP......in case I get n itch for something smaller.
Happy Shootin' &Happy Holidays!
