I fear this only the beginning . The only difference between this guy and his predecessors is use of Twitter to write distracting posts and skillfull use of "fake news" concept to censor media by having supporters listen to media acceptable to him. The only far reaching conservative media is the one serving needs of the state. Its designed to outcompete and eliminate genuine conservative outlets. People will vote approvingly of DJT if their proverbial pockets are full. We will see what happens during his second term. The problem is vote for a Democrat is vote for gun control. It's obviously wrong to force bump stock owners to loose them w/o compensation.

Too many myopic remarks in this thread. This is a test for the administration. If it passes, it opens all kinds of doors. Many folks (not all) on this thread are underestimating the downstream effects of this move. Braces, mags, muzzle attachments, etc. All subject to the whim of whoever is in office. And those are just the things that apply re: 2A. He just rewrote the law- poof- like that. It's almost like he doesn't have a fundamental understanding of how government works.

Yeah, I'm really confused as to why Trump would do this.

I've attempted to defend his idiotic tweets, boorish behavior, lack of decorum, and narcissistic tantrums for the past couple of years now.

I have always been consoled by the fact that he was making good policy decisions and getting conservatives into judgeships.

But this makes no sense. What does he have to gain by this?

Maybe and I’m just going off the top of my head, he’s hoping to get some dem favor in Congress for his wall (fence) or even trying to avoid possible impeachment hearings. Idk the man is the slimiest I’ve seen in a while.
