Ran across a like new Dan Wesson Mod 15-2 (I think. No model number on gun) and a 1965 Colt Trooper .357 also in Very Good Condition. Not sure if grips are Colt Factory but nevertheless a very nice gun

That DW looks like it's in great shape :). I'm a fan of the M-15 myself.
Both are sweet little finds, nice haul!

Stay safe!

Great catch! It is amazing what you'll find in little out of the way stores compared to big box or large gun shops.

That's probably because the owner had no real intention of selling them. They were probably intending on going back to repay the load before the surrender date or they could have gotten more from a gun shop on an outright sale. Sometimes real life gets in the way of your plans.

Both are really nice guns, their loss was your gain. Don't forget a range report.

Nice find on both revolvers! The Dan Wesson is great and the Colt Trooper .357 is icing on the cake! I think the grips on the Trooper are original but perhaps sanded down a bit and reconfigured by some previous owner.

I like both as well. Myself, I would choose the Dan Wesson over the Trooper. I have a Model 15-2V 6” similar to yours except without the full underlug. It is one of my most accurate revolvers.

Lotta times a family member ends up with something and just wants to dump it for whatever they can get.

I worked at the LGS. We would have grand kids come in with grandpa’s prize gun collection that he passed to them. They couldn’t wait to sell them to buy game systems or take a vacation. Or probably buy drugs.

The Internet ruined a lot of these small town places where you could find an obscure gun for half price (or the same for any other products really). Now every dumb little store is also on eBay, knows what they have. Dammit!

Yeah and in many cases if they look on gunbroker they will think it's worth a lot more than it really is. LOL

That is a 15-2, the 15 is the older "pork chop" (Called that due to the tang the rear of the barrel has. The tang is gone on a 15-2). Looks good. I have 2 15-2's, a 715 (Stainless 15-2), and a 44.

Got this one at a pawn shop about eight years ago.
