I have full rotation flush cups epoxied into a wood stock. Being a little bit (maybe a lot) obsessive about such things, I am thinking of removing them and putting in fixed rotation cups. Can this be done without damaging the stock? I am thinking of heating a metal rod that would transfer the heat into the cup, weakening the epoxy to the point at which the cup could be removed. Any thoughts on this?

Temperatures above 350 may damage the wood. Depending on brand of epoxied, it will soften starting at 200 degrees. Some will need more heat that may damage wood.
'flush cups
Holds sling swivels that can be removed and the cup is flush or below the stock surface.
