What Firearms Go To The Range The Most...

Thought it would be fun to see what others preferences are.

Of the different types; which go to the range or wherever one chooses to shoot recreationally the most:
  • Revolver: Ruger GP100, 357 Mag
  • Semi-auto: CZ PCR
  • Rimfire Pistol: Walther PPQ .22
  • Rimfire Bolt: Savage Mark II FVSR in Boyd’s Hunter Stock
  • Rimfire Lever:
  • Rimfire Semi-auto: Ruger 10/22 Backpacker
  • Centerfire Bolt: Ruger GSR 18”
  • Centerfire Semi-auto: AR in 7.62x39
  • Lever action: Winchester 94, .357

  • Centerfire Bolt: Just sold my Mosin so I don't have any of these either.
  • Centerfire Semi-auto: Any of my several ARs. My 300BO is getting love lately
  • Lever action: Rossi 1892 in 357mag
 
One problem with lists is you lose privacy, but it is better to put info like this here rather than "freakbook". Doing it there just might give somebo9dy a "shopping list".
That being said, I don't actually have access to an actual "range" but just go shooting on some private ground. Distances are short, esp. for rifles, but it's all I have available, weather permitting.
The main guns I'm working with now are the GP-100 in .357 and the Marlin 1894 levergun in the same. Next is the Keltec PMR-30 in .22 Mag. I'm working on reloads for the two .357s and sighting them in at various distances and sighting in a small green laser on the Keltec.

  • Centerfire Bolt: Ruger RPR, 6mm SLR 26" Bartlein Barrel
  • Centerfire Semi-auto: Homebuilt AR in .223 (3Gun Rig)
  • Lever action: None, unless you want to count single shot 74s or 1885s

I don’t do Facebook, and in regards to a shopping list, my guns are insured and if I happen to be home, well we’ll just say “they” should have stuck to Walmart pickup.

But I get what your saying, but no one knows who from Adam on here except for some whom I think are trustworthy that happen to be in the same area.

Sorry, but I learned not to advertise my "shopping list" of weapons. My daughter knew of my weapons and her boyfriend stole an EAA .380 pistol, a TEC 9 pistol, a .357 Ruger pistol and a .36 black powder pistol. Also why I don't keep a glass-fronted gun cabinet in an area where it can be seen by visitors.
 
What goes to the range most often depends on what my current project is. Just finished mounting a picatinny rail and a red dot sight on my Henry .22 lever gun. That needs to get zeroed and then played with for practice. Never owned a red dot but have used one a few times. Looks like it could be fun getting the hang of this so here's the current "most often" range piece; for now; anyway. IMG_3544.JPG

Me too. Except my CCW always goes to "the range" with me because it goes with me almost everywhere. But it's not as if I just carry my CCW to "the range" while I'm working on my current project, and then carry it home again. As long as I'm at "the range" anyway, I almost always use the opportunity to pop off a few rounds with my CCW.
 
I rarely shoot for fun, so the only guns that go to the range are ones that i'm developing loads for, got new optics, or needed verification of function. Most of my firearms are tools for exploring the wilderness, self-defense, or matches. I have a couple of purely aesthetic firearms that I get joy from just looking at and holding.
 
Only one gun goes everywhere with me and it’s a very old ‘62 S&W mod 10 sq butt with a Hogue grip. It has 40% blueing left, and rides in a Galco Highrise. First shot is a blue glazer followed by Hornady Critical Defense.
 
  • Revolver: Pietta Remmy 1858 replica; .44 caliber
  • Semi-auto: Glock 23
  • Rimfire Bolt: Savage .22
  • Centerfire Bolt: Winchester Model 70
  • Centerfire Semi-auto: DPMS AR in .223
  • Shotgun: Winchester Model 12

Rimfire Bolt: new CZ 455 Standard
Centerfire Semi Auto: PSA PA-10 .308, Stag Model 6 5.56 NATO
Centerfire Pistol: CZ P-09
Centerfire Revolver: Ruger GP-100 .357 Magnum 6"

In a few months the Remington 700 SPS Varmint .223 bolt gun will join the Savage 93R17 TR in .17HMR as primary, joined by a couple AR-15's, getting ready for varmint safari to Montana.

That’s just great. Like to hear of something getting a used a lot. I am assuming most parts on the Glock getting replaced?

It's heavier than most ARs, has a long, non-adjustable stock, a terrible trigger and safety, has zero factory or aftermarket support, and if you want spare magazines you have to fabricate them from UZI or Colt AR9 mag bodies.

It's also more fun than a barrel of drunk monkeys and makes you feel like you just dropped with the rest of Rico's Roughnecks from the starship Rodger Young. :D
 
Glock 19/ Glock 26/ Glock 43 every single trip

LC9/M&P 9 once every 3 months?

S&W 4006 twice a year maybe?


If I'm taking a class I'm carrying a Glock
 
It used to be that the guns that saw lots of range time were my Cowboy Action guns. They see little use now and I don’t know when they will.

The guns I hit the range with these days are:
Pistol: Glock 19X
Pistol: Glock 45
Semi-Auto Carbine: Ruger PC Carbine
Revolver: S&W 327NG
Revolver: S&W model 19
Revolver: S&W model 10
Revolver: S&W model 60 Pro
Revolver: S&W model 442

Usually the semi-autos go one trip, revolvers go the next.

No, not at all. Just the frame. I only clean my Glock 17 every 1,000 rounds or so (this translates to between 1 and 1 1/2 months). Once when I was cleaning it (around 60k rounds in) I noticed that it was missing a slide rail on the frame (but still functioned) I sent it back to Glock and they replaced the frame and sent it back within a week, fully assembled, test-fired, and free of charge.
