What's the best gun deal you've ever gotten?

Brand new Ruger American 9mm From Palmetto for $250 shipped.

Western Field 20ga double for $100 at a pawn shop.

Pedersoli 12 gauge double. Like new and never fired for $550 last fall.

My dad pulled in my driveway on my birthday and gave me his unfired Winchester Y model 12 trap gun.
He allowed that he would never shoot it, and he wanted or one of my boys to have it.

A couple years back I put in a bid on a Baikal SxS that was mostly a "why not?" type bid. Ended up with a box lock 12 gauge SxS for $175. As it turns out I am not a huge fan of a double trigger SxS for hunting, so I am not entirely sure what to do with it, but it was cheap. I think about having it cut short to 16.5" and left at cylinder bore as a home defense/bear medicine gun, but I haven't got around to it.

The most recent two were from the same guy and were a Winchester M-70 in 300 Winchester Magnum. I think it was the long range hunter and it had a Leopold VX-3 4.5 X 14 mounted on it. And a Ruger Super Red Hawk in 44 magnum with a cheap scope. Both came with some ammo and once fired brass. Both for $1000.

Six years before I bought a NM Springfield Armory with a scope mount, lots of ammo and some brass for $700 from the same guy.

Sometime in-between those two purchases I found a Remington M-600 in 222 for $400. Its a great little rifle for sitting behind a hay bale calling Coyotes.

18.5" will be less expensive.

I met a old gentleman at one of the small gunshops I go too. Struck up a conversation that I liked old Mossberg .22s. He said he had one and took my number. Called a couple days later and said stop over. He handed me a excellent condition, complete 151M(b) semi auto and said he hasn't shot it in 20 years. It's yours, enjoy it. He wouldn't take anything for it. Another gunshop took in a Mossberg 42B, complete, in very nice shape from a large estate. The owner handed it to me and said it's yours. Thanks for helping us ID guns,repairs and information that saved us a lot of time and money. I guess free and free is pretty good for around 500.00 bucks of rifles.

Best "gun related" deal I've ever gotten....not a thief, but I stole this one. Sam's Club was discontinuing this line of safes and had it marked down.

I once traded a case of cheap beer for a Glenfield model 60 with the oak leaf stock.
Dirtiest rifle I've ever laid eyes on. Cleaned up real nice and shoots good. I'm not a drinker so I feel like it was a pretty good deal.

I traded 500 rnds of cheap 5.56 and like $50 for this pre model 34, 22/32 kit gun.

i bought this model 28 along with a mini 30 for $1000. Sold the mini during the Obama scare for about $1100 and kept the 28. So i got this one for free.

No great gun deals, but gun-adjacent. Picked up my C93 (which I love, love, love) from the LGS. "Anything else you need?" Well, mags for it now. Ugh, HK mags. Guy goes in back, brings back FOUR HK mags of various types. Steel and aluminum, 20, 25, 30, 40 rounders.

Literally blows the dust off, these have been back there, there's no story as to why they are hidden vs on the shelves out front, but there's a reason and I'm a friendly. Prefer cash by far. I only have $20 with me. Done.

If you don't know, that's something like $250 of mags (and maybe some are rarer and it's $400 worth) for $20 even.

Ah, well, you can see how much I have investigated the possibility. Most likely it stays in its current form for the foreseeable future.

I bought a Ruger SR1911 in LN condition for 400 .
I bought a Glock 36 in LN condition for 300 .
I bought a TC Hawken and a TC Renegade in LN condition for 400 .
All of these were pretty recent .

I bought a Colt Woodsman in "Good" condition for $100 from a neighbor years ago.

That safe price was insane.

I won my first-ever GB auction for a Stevens 520 at the princely sum of $46. I also found a Mosin Nagant M44 for $54 at a gun show once.

A Winchester MDL 100, my Dad brought me on his return home from Vietnam with the Marines. Great day, Dad was Home safe, and a new gun.

I bought my first Mosin Nagant for $40 even at a gunshow...boy those were the days..

Best deal for me was two that I overpaid for. I worked out a deal with my granddaddy for a 20ga Mossberg 600ct. I mowed his 1 acre yard nearly 30 times around 1998 to get the gun. I learned a lot about earning something the old fashioned way. Granddaddy passed in 2003 and I also got his tool box because of my work ethic. His other grandkids decided that stealing all the valuables in the home while he was dying, pawning it, and smoking the money away in a crack pipe was a good idea. Some of the guns were found at a pawn shop and I got enough cash out to pay the pawnbrokers back what they had in the guns. 2007 rolled around and his wife, Grandma, was in a bind at thanksgiving. Not enough money in pension and social security to make ends meet and still put a toy under the tree for each of the great grand kids. $100 bought me a $30 RG model 31 in 32 long, but it also bought each of the kids a toy and it bought grandma a whole lot of dignity.

Very seldom do I look at a deal based on the price tag. I look at a deal on merit. Yes I have bought on price, not once have I been thrilled with the result.

When I worked in gunshops, I was given several that people had brought into the shop for 'disposal'. Least I've paid is $20, for a Cobray/Leinad .45/.410 SxS derringer. I paid $25 for a Mosin that was parts, just missing the stock, bought a stock off eBay for $10, and I paid $25 for an S&W Model 32 to a widow that wanted it gone. She set the price.
