ive got 2 Fullfieldii scopes in 3x9. On is on a Tikka 7 mm mag. Coating looks a more reddish color than my second newer one. Both have the ballistic Plex reticle. I mounted newer one on a Tikka 6.5 t3 light. Noticed reticle really hard to get eyepiece to stay in focus. Done ok at the range but got home and front seal looks broken. Outside front lens looks ok but further looking it appears glass underneath is scratched up bad on the inside. Got a ticket number and shipped on my dime. Curious of outcome in 3 weeks from receiving they tell me. Was getting ready to buy an E1 to get away from turning entire eyepiece to change power but going to wait it out now. Hopefully they treat me right. I’ve sent in 3 vortex scopes on their dime and all came back with new scopes in 2 weeks telling me I overtorked the rings. I know better but they have kept me happy.

I doubt you'll be disappointed, optics companies generally take good care of thier customers. I've never seen a Burris fail, so have no personal experience, but having dealt with a few of the others, I'm sure they will take care of you.

Burris has always done a good job. I have sent in my one pair of binoculars a couple of times. I used them literally every day , when I still shot archery competition, and they were literally worn out. Fixed with no charge. Have sent two scopes in. One the seals were shot and the other the elevation was so stiff it could barely be turned. Also, the stiff turning one, the elevation would jump four inches at times. Both were fixed, but, came back with explanations on why I couldn't sight my rifle in or hold 0. Kind of odd when that's not what they were sent in for. Oh well all it cost was shipping and they both worked when they returned.

Have a friend that had a moderately priced Burris. Went bad and he was gonna junk it. Told him to send it back. They returned a brand new, higher quality one free

I sent in an XTR II about a month ago that the parallax setting went wonky on. They noted the repaired the parallax and re purged the scope. It's due back on Wednesday.

I bought a Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14x42 from a forum member (another forum) who said it was in LNIB condition, said it had only the faintest ring marks. When I received it the scope wouldn't quite focus clearly at any distance. The tube had been crushed by scope rings that must have had the clamping force of a small vice (and must have needed lapping something fierce). Due the obvious abuse the scope had been subjected to, I didn't expect it to be covered by warranty, but I sent it to Burris hoping that they would fix it for a reasonable fee. About two weeks later a brand new scope showed up in my mail at no charge, even for the shipping costs.

BTW, I loved the scope so much that I bought three more. It is definitely the best performance bargain I've ever bought in a scope. To my eyes it slightly out performs the ~$500-street-price Weavers, Sightrons, Leupold, and Vortex scopes that I own and have carefully compared it to, while costing only about half that much (if you find a pretty good deal on it).

Hey l6turbo, I have the same scope and it is a terrific scope; easily as good as my Leupolds that cost twice as much. Glad you had a good resolution to what started as a crappy deal from an unethical seller. To those who are considering this scope, do some shopping around and it's available for well under $300. I have access to a buying discount situation and got mine for $230, but most people will not get that kind of deal. After having it for awhile, I would gladly pay more for an other one.

I bought a used Burris back in 1994 and mounted it onto a Rem .338 win mag. I believe it was a 6-18 fullfield but could be wrong. Anyways, shortly thereafter the cross hairs broke. Sent it off to Burris by recommendation from my local gun shop & Burris repaired it, no charge. (and yes, I sold that shoulder buster after 1 hunting season)

Fast forward to 1 month ago. I was carrying 3 pistols in soft cases at our local range, soon as I stepped onto the concrete pad my 1911 with a Burris FF3 slipped out of my hand & landed right on the red dot. (in the case) Bent the hood & shattered the glass.
I took a pic & sent it with an honest description of what happened using their online RMA form. I was told to send it in & not to worry.
2-3 weeks later I received a brand new FF3.

mine showed up a couple of days ago with a note that the tech tightened the objective lock ring and the pivot lock ring, so I guess it wasn't just me, something really did go wrong inside. I'm guessing this scope will be good to go for the rest of it's life now.

I got an email last Friday saying they received it and turn around after checking it out is 2-3 weeks. Curious of what they say. Been eyeballing the newer E1 since the magnication ring got moved so you don’t have to turn the entire eyepiece. Will wait and see what the warranty turns out. I’m still banging around with some heavy loads in the 7 mm mag with the 10 year old scope and it’s hanging in. I notice my glass is more of a reddish tint on the old one. The new one was just clear. Maybe not coated as good as the old ones. Turrets a little better on the old one also as far as feel and audible.

The coating have probably changed, and been improved, over the years. I've got a red tinted one and a newer "not red" one. The newer one seems better to my eyes than the older one, but only in specific conditions....and I still like them better than most of the other scopes I have in the same price range.

My new one also has the sticky elevation adjustment, that's been mentioned before. It does adjust correctly tho, so I've not sent it in.

Got e mail showing they repaired the scope. Created a shipping label on the 31st but hasn’t been haded to UPS yet. Maybe a little shy of a month if it comes back and all is good. Warranty not too bad so far.

I am running a Burris thread also right now. My FF3 has a secondary red dot in addition to the main dot. I will send it in this coming week. Based on the wording of the warranty I fully expect a new one to come back. I will let you guys know.

Got an updated ups form and it will be back on Thursday. Total time if so will be 28 days from time it left here. I’m not getting a new one though. They say they replaced front lens and a seal. Put new reticle in it. Recoil tested it. Purged with Nightrogen. Replaced or repaired one turret. Anxious to get it back. If it’s right I’m going to grab a second focal plane Veracity that’s supposedly new for this year coming out to stores in a few months. Nowhere near as quick as Vortex but all it cost was shipping. Vortex has sent me prepaid labels and turn around two weeks tops.

I'm not knocking Vortex by any means, but it's usually easier to just ship a new optic than it is to repair the one that came in.
The downside of doing that is if they are from the same lot that has the same flaw, or flawed parts etc.

Admittedly its rare, but I heard from a reliable friend, of 2 good scopes failing exactly the same way within months of each other, the replacements, replacement, went to another buddy of his, and he bought an even higher end brand.
For him tho, that experience killed the scope line for him. Had they fixed what he originally sent in, rather than having a replacement sent quickly, that just as quickly failed, I'd bet he would still be a customer.

I haven't asked if the third scope had any issues.

I've actually never had a scope fixed, only quickly replaced....and admittedly I've always wondered what was the issue with the ones I sent in, and if they would show up in the replacement (hasn't happened to me yet). ....Well besides the Nikon I squished, or the Leupold my buddy squished, those we're pretty obvious.

I have had two sets of very well made, reliable, and we'll recommended (hell I recommend them) recurve bow limbs, and 2 risers, explode on me. Tho the risers failing may well have caused the limbs damage.
The cause, I was never informed of, but I do know the whole batch of risers we're scrapped, and I was issued an upscale riser. The limbs were replaced 3 times, and admittedly I was leary by that third set, but I was assured they were from a new lot.
That was a long journey, that ended up fine.

Burris does make me Leary if the scope does the same thing again. Will never know until I try it.
All Vortex ever done was send a new scope and tell me I over torqued the scope rings. Every time. I know better since they were torqued at the inch pounds they required. Easier for them to send a new one verses try and repair I guess.

Yeah, which is why I actually appreciate Burris repairing a scope rather than just tossing another in a box. Your at the mercy of the tech who opened it, but at least someone LOOKED at the guts on that one, rather than just issuing another.

I totally agree with this.

Scope came back yesterday. From comments in package it appears they rebuilt the reticle. They replaced all the lenses by the way which are amber colored like my old one now instead of clear. New seals and repurged with Nitrogen. They say it was recoil tested so maybe in a few weeks will get to mount it back up and see how turrets work. So far so good.
