Hiya Guy's :) ..

I picked up this $100 Bear River Scholfield Co2 .177 revolver in an eBay auction for $48

https://www.amazon.com/Bear-River-Schofield-No-Revolver/dp/B01LOX7TWS

My cousin has a pretty good collection of these all metal CO2 replica handguns going so Just for kicks I thought I'd pick one up if I couldcould to play with at home. It looks nice and it's all metal with a one piece wrap around grip panels that hide the CO2 cartridge, a single / double action trigger and a blade sight up front and hi viz Dot's Outback . Quality-wise in comparison to even the cheapest rhome ghimby Saturday Night Special I've ever seen, it's a joke, however for toys quality it's better then any plastic BB gun I've ever seen so I guess it's not too bad & it'll be good to plink with at home when I don't feel like going anywhere

Oops, apparently the eBay seller didn't do his or her research and is probably a little clueless when it comes to Firearms, but this is not the Schofield that they said it was. This is the Bear River 4-inch exterminator.

Unfortunately it didn't come with either of the accessory rails pictured on the website which I don't care for any way but it didn't come with either type of shells for bb's & pellets. It looks like it'll cost me the better part of $40 for 6 shells for bb's, another 6 for pellets and a box of 15 co2 c. artridges

I was considering one of those, but couldn't wrap my head around the unattractive rail. Let me know if it can be easily removed.

Apparently they can because they're on simple dovetails & this didn't come with either one of them

@gsbuickman my kids have the Crosman 357SNR, which, according to my research, uses the same shells. The Crosman comes with 6 bb and 6 pellet shells. The kids only use the bb shells. PM me your address, and the pellet shells are yours.

Thanks , that's awesome . PM sent :) ...

If yours is anything like the Crosman, you will enjoy it. It is way more accurate than I expected an inexpensive bb gun to be, and it is a lot of fun to plink in the backyard. The kids enjoy getting it out, and the wife and I take an occasional turn, as well.

In my experience playing around with CO2 pistols I've found the Hornady Black Diamond BBs to be about as accurate as pellets in the combination guns. They are more expensive than the standard BBs but shrink your groups noticeably even in BB only guns.

Thanks guys :) , as soon as I get some CO2 cartridges and shells for bb's & pellets I'll pick up a can of those black diamonds and see how well they perform :) .

Color me confused, but "Schofield" comes up as the S&W Model 3 revolver from 1870 to 1915 revolver designed for use by cavalry units, because its cylinder could be reloaded while on horseback. It was a top-break revolver, ejecting the empty casings when opened. How does this description have anything at all to do with a CO2 pellet gun? I ask because the slight difference in spelling between "Scholfield" (as quoted by the OP) and "Schofield" just might be designed to confuse all of us???

The OP corrected himself in post 3 above. The revolver he got is not a Schofield replica. Bear River does indeed make one, though. I've seen it. It seems pretty solid.

I've got a Daisy semi auto BB pistol that will jam with Daisy BBs but works fine with those Hornady Black Diamonds. If you look at the Hornady closely with a magnifying glass and compare them to Daisy BBs you'll see the difference in the surface. Buickman, I've got the Crosman 357 SNR and the 357 SR which are the same guns in different length barrels. FYI the speed loaders for S&W K frame model 10s work for the SNR & SR. They're a lot of fun and I've killed many soup cans with them. OP, nice Bear River Exterminator. I think Bear River, Crosman and some others are made in the same place in Taiwan with minor differences. IMG_0867 (1).JPG

Nice :) . Thanks for the heads up on the differences between them, my cousin also has the Crosman 357 in the short barrel and he's looking to acquire the long barrel version and I may do the same. I have the pellet and the BB cartridges for thisthis, now I'm just waiting on some CO2 cartridges to get here that I ordered from eBay so I can try this thing out :) ..
