i would like to try some BE in my marlin, i have good luck with unique and 2400. those noslers look nice, ever hunt with them.

Haven't used them on whitetail yet. Have a nice load for my 629, but the deer decided to not give me a clean shot this season. Will give it a go again next season.

I've been carrying and working on Bulldogs since the 80s. If you limit your loads to 200 gr. slugs or less the gun will last much longer. A 200 gr. slug going 800 to 900 fps is plenty of cowbell for defense use and is ballistically very close to the original Ordnance Dept. spec. load for the .45 ACP. A steady diet of 240 gr. slugs will loosen the gun up. That's not a rumor - I have seen it happen. These guns are very lightly built and should be carried a lot and shot just enough to gain proficiency with.

I like that flat point boolit!!!!
With that big flat nose it looks like it ought to weigh 280 or better!
What boolit mold are you using?
Thanks

The bulk of the 4000+ rounds I've fed it have been lightish cast bullets, i.e. 162 gr WC , 172 gr RN, 200 gr RFN, 208 gr WC, and 214 gr SWC's. Though it does also like 240 gr plated FN and that 240 gr WFN shown above. I plink and practice with lighter, mid range, loadings while carrying the stouter general purpose field loads. Gotta practice a lot with one's daily CCW. The key is not to over do it with lots and lots of hot, max level loads.

Be well

Even with moderate loads the Charter is not a long mileage gun. I practice with other 2.5 and 3 in. snubs to stay proficient at point shooting. The Bulldog just gets carried. My other main carry gun is a 3 in. S&W 696. It's a little bigger and heavier but it is a joy to shoot. It also mainly shoots 200 gr. slugs over Unique, 2400 and Red Dot. 200 gr. full wadcutters are usually carried in it.

Nice ammo, OP! :)

I have a 44 Bulldog and a 45acp Pit Bull. I like them for cold-weather carry in a coat pocket or under an extra shirt OWB. If I have to throw a slug, I would prefer a nice big fat one.

I shoot them occasionally, but for steady practice I use something like my S&W Model 10 snubby. It would take me a very long time to shoot that thing loose. I don't expect the light CA snubbies to have that kind of endurance.
