20 rounds a month. https://olis.leg.state.or.us/liz/2019R1/Downloads/MeasureDocument/SB501/Introduced That’s all you will be able to buy if the Democrats in Salem have their way. And you’ll need a background check to get those. You’ll also need a permit to simply buy a firearm. Prohibits possession of magazine with capacity to hold more than FIVE rounds. And there’s lots more.

We have posted the gun bills introduced so far. You can see them all here https://www.oregonfirearms.org/2019-firearms-legislation

As we predicted, 2019 is going to be a very hostile year for gun owners in the Beaver State. So roll up your sleeves folks, we are in for a hell of a fight.

Just annex Oregon east of the Cascades into Idaho, far more conservative in their nature than the Californians we are getting up here. We'll take eastern Washington as well.

But back to the original post, I hope these go down in flames for all you Oregonians; but sadly with the Oregon metro (Portland, Eugene, Bend, etc) areas controlling the votes, it's only a matter of time.

I've said it before the next 10 years of the 2nd Amendment and gun rights is going to be a wild ride, there needs to be organization on a national level to push back on these over reaches on a Constitutional right.

If all of this isn't the definition of "infringement" I don't know what is.

This won't pass but I do think Oregon will adopt stricter gun laws at some point in the near future - the Willamette Valley drives the politics of the entire state.

Just for info, OR had concealed carry before TX.

I feel badly for my OR kinfolk (the few left on the green side of the grass, anyway).

Sadly, this is classic political maneuvering, too. It will be, "Ok, so 20 is too few; so, let's compromise at 100." Instilling that ammo can be set to arbitrary limits and not be an infringement of our rights. "Oh, revolvers hold more than 5, ok, we'll change that to 8." Again, the kernel will be there, that it's legal, moral, ethical to set arbitrary limits on capacity.

As CapnMac said this is just a bargaining point. They'll be glad to accept 10/50 and crow about what great people they are to have compromised. Compromised for now.

Folks,

This is beginning to drift into whining and complaining.

Let's focus on strategy and solutions to stop these anti initiatives.

Every time a supposedly religious person like the above calls for bans point out they're acting as bigots bearing false witness against the overwhelming number of law abiding citizens.

Every time an advocate for racial, gender, or social justice advocate encourages treating us like criminals point out this is no different than the prejudice and bigotry directed at groups they advocate for.

Every Sheriff, Mayor, County Manager, Legislator that supports us needs support from us. Letters and checks are good, but real volunteers make the best impact.

If you are from Oregon PLEASE contact your reps!!! I hope it helps, but this is going to be a long fight! Until the super majority is gone, fat chance, this is going to be an every year fight.

I'm not from Oregon, but I have contacted your governor, it's difficult for me to respect the creature who currently occupies that position, all of your Federal representatives, Federal senators, the state speaker of the House, and the state president of the senate explaining that their policies and behavior are antithetical to the principles upon which this nation was founded and which are enshrined in the United States Constitution. I made it clear that I will not spend a single cent in Oregon or another other state run by left-wing lunatics, bent on forcing their personal beliefs on the rest of us. I have sent similar letters to the left-wing lunatics who control states such as Washington, California, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Illinois, Connecticut, Delaware, Virginia, Louisiana, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Montana and Maine. I'm not wealthy, but I have the luxury of spending 10 - 20K a year on guns and related items. I spend another 10 - 20K a year on travel and recreation. So, if you are in one of those states and have allowed the left-wing lunatics to take control of your state, I'm sorry but you wont see any of my money. You see, I can't vote in your state, but what I can do is make sure that none of my money goes toward undermining our freedoms. When I see an item that interests me in an auction, for example, the first thing I do is check to see where the auction and/or item is located. If it is in a state where the people have allowed themselves to become the subjects of the left-wing lunatics, I write the auction company or individual a note explaining that I'd like to bid, but because they have allowed themselves to be dominated by tyrants, I refuse to allow them to get their hands on a single cent of my money. For example, in the last 15 years, I've bought and sold over 50K with Rock Island Auctions. The day after the Governor of Illinois signed the death bill for small gun shops, I wrote a letter to RIA explaining that I would no longer be doing business with them. There are still lots of other places where I can spend my money. Maybe you can get little Chuckie Schumer from New York to buy it, or maybe Senator Blumenthal, if it's in Connecticut, or Governor Northam if it's in Virginia. If enough people in these states don't have the backbone to maintain their own freedom, it's one small thing that the rest of us can do to help. If there was enough of us, well maybe we could take back our country.

.... but sadly with the Oregon metro (Portland, Eugene, Bend, etc) areas controlling the votes, it's only a matter of time..

I hope the best for the sane and level headed citizens of Oregon...but...
Same situation in ILL-inois. Chicago, and a couple of other cities, have ruined the rest of the state. Way too many dumb-misinformed-ignorant idiots (and freeloaders) have the right to vote. The new Governor (Democrat, of course) is willing to sign any bill that is anti-2nd. I'll retire in 2 years and be gone from this sad state.

Just for info, OR had concealed carry before TX.

Officially, but Texas also considered a vehicle part of your home and allowed the transport and carry of loaded firearms, long guns and hand guns, with no permit whatsoever. While even many states with concealed carry on the books don''t let people do that, or treat long guns differently, or only allow the specific handguns on a permit to even be carried or transported loaded.

I am sure the antis will "compromise" at 10 rounds and ammunition registration like their co-conspirators in California.

You know California's population nearly doubled in two decades, most of the growth being foreign immigration, and children and grand children of those given amnesty by Ronald Reagan and was the primary population growth in the state.
The number of illegals is in the millions so the state population is actually millions higher than documented, although their children had in the US would all be considered citizens and may be part of the census.
You wouldn't have seen the cost of living in California shoot up so fast and the culture change causing the mass exodus that is now going to result in the legislative change of many other states they move to if the issue had been properly addressed.
California citizens even voted for prop 187 in 1994 and passed it by a majority of the people and it would have stopped the problem by removing government funding of illegals and further criminalizing the hire of illegal labor. Yet California was then prevented by a federal judge from implementing any of it, and then the Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional.
So California wanted and tried to stop the issue when they could see they had a short window left before the demographics skewed too far to ever correct it again. Yet was prevented from doing so by the US government. That resulted in a massive population increase and a dramatic demographic shift as a result of the federal government blocking the State from dealing with the issue while simultaneously failing to deal with it themselves.
The US federal government also sets the policies on legal immigration and swamps California with Asian immigrants as fast as businesses can ask for them.
The state is being given and sold to a foreign population.
Do a quick look at the numbers, here is https://www.americanimmigrationcouncil.org/research/immigrants-in-california
In 2015, 10.7 million immigrants (foreign-born individuals) comprised 27.3 percent of the population. ... In 2016, 9.3 million people in California(23.8 percent of the state's population) were native-born Americans who had at least one immigrant parent.
27.3+23.8 = 51.1%
(The children typically favor policies that would not have prevented their parents from coming and vote very predictably.)

The number leaving the state is higher than it appears because there is actually so many new foreigners coming into the state replacing people as they leave that even with a net loss the percent of the population leaving is lower than the actual percent of prior residents leaving.
(Most immigration now is from Asia, and Asian Americans are actually the largest demographic in favor of more gun restrictions. Also on the west coast British Columbia is now over a third Asian with much more permissive legal immigration policies. And there is more people in Asia that want to come to the USA than anywhere else in the world, with overcrowded India and China accounting for over a third of the world's population alone.)
You let so many come in they replaced rather than assimilated, and you prevented the state or the citizens from doing what they could about it. It wasn't California that failed, it was the US government that failed California and let California be conquered by a foreign invasion that has since totally changed the culture and demographics and now number such a high percent of the voters that they vote to allow it to worsen.

Outside of San Francisco and Hollywood California was actually quite conservative until that demographic shift and had some of the best self defense laws in the country.
