Never used this or anything similar but wanted to see if it does anything to my walnut.....

The new sealed bottle has some crusty stuff around the neck - looks like a discolored spot in this pic, but a little caked on buildup. But when I opened the bottle and removed the seal, I noticed right away it smells like sour milk. Not as strong as a gallon of spoiled milk, but definitely a similar smell, just not as strong.

Didn't seem right so figured I's ask before ruining a bunch of media with it. For some reason I expected it would be more like a fluid - about consistency of maple syrup is what I was expecting, but this is more like hand lotion or thicker. I can remove cap, turn bottle upside down, & it doesn't flow out. So should it be that thickness and have that odd smell or should I exchange for new bottle?

That sounds a little shaky to me. I wonder if it froze in transit or storage and ruined it. I haven't use Lyman's polish yet but I would pass on putting that in my media based on your description.

I've used it for years, along with Brasso, and Car Wax. Turbo Brite works very well, just add about a tablespoon to the Walnut Media, let it run about 15-20 minutes, then add the brass.

Good Luck

So describe it for me please so I know what mine should be like.....how thick is it and what does it smell like please?

Shake it well, it is kinda thick, then just pour in in to the Walnut Media (Running), then after a few minutes, add brass for an hour or 2 depending on the brass, sorry I haven't smelled it... It should be white or slightly off color, and think. Shake it well, and go to town.
