Has anyone seen one in "the wild" yet, or better yet, purchased one? If so, what prices are you seeing and what is your impression? MSRP is $495, wondering if the street price will be less.

George Kellgren doesn't like to take out loans, so it seems to take about 5 years for new models to become commonly available.

This one recycles some KSG parts, so maybe it won't take so long, but I would be impressed if we saw any at all before the end of the year.

A friend bought a KSG a few years ago. I shot it a few times and I was not impressed. We both had problems with it jamming while feeding a new shell into the chamber. I like some of Kel-Tec's guns but I don't foresee myself ever purchasing one of their shotguns.

I had great luck with my KSG after installing the factory optional wider-thicker butt pad and doing a "fluff & buff" to a few critical parts.
After the work it was so smooth I'd have to deliberately short stroke it to get a stoppage.
Kel-Tec did have issues with the early guns, but they product improved it until the problems were corrected.
Most problems with the KSG were people showing off how fast they could empty the gun and causing stoppages from short stroking or fumbling the trigger disconnect.
In most cases if you just shoot the gun at a reasonable speed you'd have no trouble.

A major trouble solver was to polish the parkerizing out of the chamber. Kel-Tec parked the inside of the barrel as well as the outside.
This was a major cause of failures to feed and mostly to extract.
After a polish job in the chamber even the notorious Winchester steel case head budget ammo worked flawlessly.

Kel-Tec probably isn't going to be so slow with the new Ks7. Kel-Tec has reportedly been beefing up their production capacity after the excellent sales of the KSG and their latest bullpup rifle.
Someone reported that they'd seen one for sale already. Whether this is true or not, I suspect they'll be on the market soon.
I'll wait until the scalpers are finished to buy one.

I'm seriously thinking that I'll buy a Ks7.
It's going to be a lighter gun then the KSG, and the single Remington 870 type straight through magazine will make it a much simpler gun both in use and in being fool proof.

You have to give Kel-Tec credit for these bullpup designs.
They used the John Browning designed Ithaca Model 37 type action in a simple hardened steel receiver and came up with an 18 1/2 inch barrel gun in a over all length of 26 inches.
They also get credit for being the first gun maker to solve the long bullpup trigger connect problem. Most bullpup designs have bad triggers due to the long linkage from the trigger back to the sear and disconnector at the rear.
Kel-Tec solved it by putting the entire trigger and disconnect package in the pistol grip assembly and putting the HAMMER at the rear.
So the KSG trigger is shotgun excellent right out of the box.

It's hard to beat it for a inside the home or car defense gun and it's far easier to get fast and repeated hits with then the Mossberg and Remington "pistol" shotguns.
It's one of the few shotguns that can be easily held and fired with one hand. This makes it possible to be ready to shoot while opening doors and moving around inside the house.

Combine the new Kel-Tec with Federals new full power 1 3/4 inch #4 buckshot shells and it'll be a winner.

I have one on order in green . The ones on gunbroker are going for $50-$100 more than MSRP ! I ordered mine at MSRP from a Keltec dealer friend of mine. The latest KSG seem completely GTG . I am looking for a lighter defense gun .

Would you please post your impressions of the KSG once you get it? I've been eyeing it with interest.

Purchased one today at a gun show for a few bucks under msrp. Light hand handles well but I will not be firing any magnum or 3" loads as they would just beat you to death. Hard to believe you can get this much firepower in such a small package.

Thanks. I have been looking online, and most sellers want way more than MSRP. Glad to hear that you were able to get one at that price.

To mount that sight you will need to order the picatiny rail for the KSG from kel-tec and install that in place of the KS7's rail. The KS7 does have a fiber optic front sight and raised dot rear in the trough on top of the rail. I like that they made that rail interchangeable with the KSG picatiny rail.

To make the new K7S more comfortable to shoot, order the optional wider/thicker recoil pad from Kel-Tec.
Since the K7S uses the same stock as the KSG the pads will fit either.

How's it shoot?

Guy brought one into LGS, handled it. Liked it better than the KSG.
Still wish they made em Remchoke.

Mine has not yet been delivered to my LGS from distributor. Waiting but have to settle for my beloved 870 tactical in the mean time :)

The KS7 seems like it'd be a really handy little shotgun, but I can't get over how close your pump hand is to the maw... creeps me out. I wish they offered a larger hand block on the pump, or maybe a few more inches of barrel...

I have been checking Gun Genie regularly, and lo and behold there was exactly 1 available tonight. Put it in my cart, selected my favorite LGS, and the grand total will be $495 OTD.

I note that some folks have had intermittent problems with the Aquila mini-shells, and I am hoping that the Herters Mini-Buckshot (2.25") will prove reliable.
