A model 11 for his 11th would be neat. If the price was right and they’re in decent condition I’d buy one.

The Savage 24 .22 / 20ga. over under might be interesting, as might the .30 Carbine if you don't have one. I have to say I know nothing about Fed. Ord. carbine's reputation though.
"The Savage 24 .22 / 20ga."
^^^I had a model 24DL, .22Mag.over 20 ga. in my auction last August, here in central Indiana that brought almost $800.00..This was the most surprising sale of the auction..My 8" Colt Trooper III, in the box brought $900.00..Yes the sale was GOOD to me..Bill.

There's a local auction this Saturday. My son and I are going for a boys day, it's our way of celebrating his birthday. I don't see anything special but, admittedly, I know next to nothing about shotguns. You guys see anything on this list worth a bit of extra attention. I'll be eyeballing the 66 and Colt revolvers, for sureView attachment 830928
I'd like to look the Savage 109 over. I'm a sucker for a falling block.

For a pump shotgun the Remington 870 Wingmaster might be a good one - avoid the 870 Express. Then it looks like you will have quite a few semi-auto Remington 11s to look at. Also take a look at the Remington 1100.

I would do some advance work on the Brno, Ithaca 20 and Trailside. They are well made and fun to shoot. I would also be watching the High Standard pistol to make sure it did not go too cheap. Shotguns with polychokes tend to be less spendy than the same gun without, and I agree that the Smith will bring stupid money no matter what the real story is.

A sleeper is the Beretta Pintail shotgun. It uses the Benelli type Montefeltro action which is about as reliable a semi -auto shotgun for rough conditions like duck hunting that you could find. I believe HK made a similar shotgun under license from Beretta/Benelli in the 1980's.

The auction was nearly a waste of time. Severe pitting in the rifling on the Colt, the long guns all looked to have been dragged behind a truck and the 66 is actually a 65. Had some pretty good hot dogs, though. Nathan's, I think.

Recent local estate auction, provided some rather LIVELY bidding on a Colt Boa. Go ahead, look that up. Sold for $7700 + $500 (tax).
