I carry a revolver but if I carried a semi-auto it would be every week.. I clean my guns after I shoot them. I train with my carry gun once a week. So my carry gun gets cleaned every week.

I see guns in all kinds of conditions. Here’s one that the owner didn’t care to clean. I had to clean it to get it to fire.

Is that a PPQ subcompact? If it is, bad guys are carrying guns I haven't even seen in my local shops yet.

if you carry an auto for EDC how often do you unload and clean it? I had a pair of FTE when shooting my carry gun with my carry ammo this week and I have a suspicion that dust bunnies might have contributed to multiple failures of what has always been a reliable pistol.
I dont know if dust bunnies could cause a fte, maybe if theyre slowing the slide down but seems like a stretch.
I shoot my carry gun once a month at least, usually clean it when i get home. I have a small gun that doesnt get shot a lot but doesnt get carried a lot either, every few months ill pop it apart and give her 2 drops of oil (one drop split between the rails, one to coat the barrel/locking surfaces if shes lucky ill give one more drop to the trigger mechanism but rarely do i bother. Oil screws up a gun thats in dust and debris filled enviroments so i keep it light, real light.

Once a month, sometimes after two if I'm really busy. However I wipe it down, clean lent out the barrel and keep and eye on things once a week. I work the slide frequently with dryfire practice so I think this keeps things from clumping up.
