I can’t find a DAK Sig to test the trigger pull on. Does the DA pull on a standard DA/SA 229 feel like the DA pull on a DAK 229?

From what I recall, the DAK has a full reset, which is a lighter weight than the standard DA on a DA/SA Sig. But there is also a short reset on the DAK (which I think is to allow shooting even if the trigger is not fully released). That short reset is of course a shorter pull, but also heavier.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I remember.

Pretty much. IMO DAK is gross. I'd rather have DA/SA or a true DAO like the 250.

It does not.

The primary full stroke of the DAK trigger feels like a smooth S&W revolver trigger....much like a tuned Kahr trigger. The secondary reset, if you don't allow the trigger to travel fully forward feels like a slightly heavier, but very smooth DA portion of the DA/SA SIG trigger.

The intent of the secondary reset is a failsafe for a stress induced failure to fully reset the trigger, the hammer will still be cocked and released. When firing rapidly, you hardly notice the increased weight of the trigger stroke

You can get used to anything. I like Sig's DA/SA better than DAK. But I like HK LEM better then HK's DA/SA.

I bought a trade in P220 DAK, and it was fantastic. I thought all DAK's were like that, so I bought a P229 DAK and was very disappointed when the trigger was totally unlike the 220's super smooth and light trigger. So far, I've never seen another DAK that has a trigger as nice as mine does Not even one that has work done to it by some "Sig expert"(I don't remember the name). Last time I shot it, some guy asked if he could shoot it, and then offered me $600(I paid $400 last Xmas) for it cash. I turned it down. He said he's never seen anything like it, and then asked who did the work on it. I have no idea, but whoever it is would get some business from people who have shot my P220. Oddly enough, the gun I own with a DA trigger most like it is my Astra A75, which apparently has been either worked on too, or has been worn into smoothness by shooting it before I got it. However it got that way, it's the best A75 I've ever shot, and one of the smoothest guns period. Almost as smooth as the Sig P220, which is like it's on ball bearings.
