My house has 6 Glock 9mm's spread around, along with my CC S&W shield, and a a scattergun sleeps under the bed. There's an old 1911 in my toolbox in the garage, and a Glock 23 in the works shed out back. My jeep, truck, and mrs FL-NC's car all have 9mm Glocks that live in them. So, I don't need to carry a gun on me in the house if I don't want to.
What holster is that.?
I like the idea of an paddle holster for at-home carry. Stay away from Fobus paddles, though, they are cheap construction and the holster breaks off from the paddle too easily.A kydex paddle type holster is probably the simplest solution. Something like a Fobus or blackhawk.
True, but if it's just for "in the house use" and not any "serious" activity, it will be ok. I have one that I have had for years for my Glock 23. That gun and holster only gets used at the range a couple times a year, and as a sidearm when hog hunting.I like the idea of an paddle holster for at-home carry. Looking for ideas...
When you carry around the house do you use your "normal" outdoor holster? Or something else?
When I'm going out I do an IWB attached to my belt, but I'm looking for something for more relaxed wear - especially for days when I won't be carrying CC outside.
Something that is easy to slip on and off would be greatly preferred (my current IWB is great for carrying, but rather awkward to don and remove).
Concealment is not required, though the option to easily cover the holster would be nice.
Normal carry is a S&W M&P 40 (full size), and that's what I'd be looking to carry around the house as well.
Edit to add: I've tried a clip-on OWB, but looking for better ideas if they're out there. Also just generally curious about how folks carry in different situations.
Been carrying an LCR in a Fobus paddle daily since they came out. 5 years, maybe? No trouble.I like the idea of an paddle holster for at-home carry. Stay away from Fobus paddles, though, they are cheap construction and the holster breaks off from the paddle too easily.
It's typically called a wing or a claw or a wing/claw. It's on Appendix Inside the Waistband (AIWB) holsters. It presses against the belt (inside your pants) and rotates the grip closer to the body.Stonebuster, what is the lever for?
In addition to what JTQ said, the "claw" is easily removed and is a $5 option.Stonebuster, what is the lever for?
