I recently picked up this AK 47 from psa. I do not have much experience with a AK's but I am really enjoying this rifle. I put a scope on it so I could check its accuracy and was pleasantly surprised. The four shot group was at 100 yards with steel cased ammo. It has a great trigger
View attachment 832204 View attachment 832205 and seems to be well made. Next will be some experimenting with different handloads and bullet weights to find the sweet spot.

Nice looking rifle. I'm glad to hear good things about PSA's AK's. I have a WASR that I bought over 10 years ago back when AK's were cheaper than AR's. I'd like to get another AK someday, and it's nice to have some American-made choices.

Definitely post back once you find some sweet spot ammunition!

Nice looking rifle and shots Casefull, just waiting for them to put back in stock (black or grey) they run out in matters of hours.
I changed my mind about the traditional wood stock.

I am liking the magpull furniture. The pistol grip seems to be more solidly mounted than the typical AK pistol grip.
The smaller holes in the target on the left are from a 6.5 creedmore Ar that has been driving me nuts trying to get it to group. I think I'm gonna throw the barrel away. It's pretty bad when an AK shoots a better group. Lol

I myself would shy away from US manufactured AKs, now that doesn't mean US "assembled" AKs from comboc demil kits.

There is no reason an American company can't get a good AK design and implementation up and running these days.
Indeed, Marc Krebs makes the finest AKs available to us. I suspect Izmash makes some better ones for Russia's SpecOps types.
Casefull, your PSA AK looks nice and shoots very well!

I Purchased it for $599 with free shipping. Interestingly enough yesterday afternoon it was available for 599 on their website. I think they sell out quickly. For anyone that's interested I found out a muzzle brake makes a big difference on an Ak. It reduced the muzzle rise by about 75%.

Let see how it works one is at shipping department for me.
Along with some extra Magpul AK mags.

There is a guy, Rob Ski, who runs a youtube channel for firearms that has reached 3000 rounds in his. He had some slight issues with deformation on the carrier and trunnion but he hasn't said it has failed yet. With the Gen 2 he went over 5000 rounds without issue and then shortly after PSA released the Gen 3. I picked up one of the Gen 3 and had to drift my front sight a good bit, actually need to drift it a little more.

Mine feels solid and I switched from the slant brake to a comp and it shoots flat. It is my first AK variant and when I was sighting it in on a bench I got a little cheek slap but it was my fault. When standing this thing shoots well and has had no issues but granted I have very few rounds through it. It comes with lifetime warranty and I am pleased with mine so far.

I ordered some magpul mags 2x 30 and 20 rounds, let wait for the report.

Yes, trust in Robski, he won't lead you astray.

Nice rifle. I'm rooting for PSA to succeed with the GF3 as it'd finally be a viable mass produced American made option. I'll stick with the imports for now, but one day we might not have them anymore.

I understand your point, good imported are almost gone for a good price, paying $1200 (saiga) for a battle rifle is out of my reach.
On the other hand $600 for plinker sound good to me, and putting some salaries in American tables better yet.
Palmetto has a good warranty when other importers don't, so my indirect support.
For how long I will keep going to the range IDK, so let me enjoy the plinker with the rusky cheap ammo now.
I will share some pics of the PSA and me.

Keep us posted. I'm a big AK fan, but have acquired all the AKs I think I want and they just all happen to be imports. If I was in the market for another, I'd consider the GF3.

If this succeeds at its price point, I could see it taking over the WASR's place and hope that it does. It'd also be detrimental to Century's USA made AK line. The WASR is proven in its longevity, and some will argue having the CHF chrome-lined barrel is better, but they are very rough around the edges, even the newer production "better" ones...I have one so I can confirm that. The PSA will be much better in the fit and finish and warranty Dept so I'm hoping they perform well. If there is a problem, at least PSA will admit it publicly and take care of it (recently the AK-V 9mm) as opposed to ignoring it like Century Arms and the issues with all of their USA made AKs.

I do totally agree with you. My beef with the AK came from cold war time.
I jumped to pistols comps., back on rifles, later on 22 steel.
Now close to watch tv all time, I said to myself why not, before they turn off the light.

You guys are discussing the imported Aks versus American made. I have a century Romanian 10 inch pistol AK. The PSA trigger is far smoother. The furniture is tighter and better fitted on the Psa. The sights are straight and accurate. The safety is also smoother. I cannot speak to longevity yet but the Psa is obviously a better built firearm. It lacks the crudeness that seems to be so prevalent with Ak pattern rifles. These are only my observations with one rifle.
